Rose Garden
IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE BEAUTIFUL, WINDING, ROSE-LINED PATHWAYS OF THE RECENTLY COMPLETED ROXBOROUGH PARK ROSE GARDEN.
The popular garden in Baulkham Hills has undergone significant transformation into a modern and accessible destination.
Works included the installation of a new rose arbour and feature sandstone area, as well as the restoration of the fountain.
Part of the project was funded under the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program. Upgrades were made to the stairs, pathways and the border edging. New irrigation and park benches were also installed.
The much-loved flower garden is home to more than 4000 roses from 80 different species, including the Australian Bi-Centennial Rose, The Hills Shire Council Rose and the Olympic Gold Rose. The rose garden is the second largest of its kind in NSW after the Botanic Gardens.
Roxborough Park Rose Garden is located at the corner of Roxborough Park Road and Mileham Avenue in Baulkham Hills.

A New Cycleway Is Coming Soon To Norwest

time to come here once a week and do a few hours. It’s very therapeutic, lovely and relaxing.
HAVE YOU LEARNED ANY NEW SKILLS FROM VOLUNTEERING
IN THE ROSE GARDEN?
Cathy: Maybe how to avoid getting too many prickles when I’m pruning! I’ve always been a gardener, but I think now I have a better appreciation of all the different varieties of roses and their names.
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE WHO’S CONSIDERING BECOMING A VOLUNTEER AT THE ROSE GARDEN?
Cathy: It’s a great idea and it’s amazing how many people you meet that just live a few streets away from you and have been in the area for as long as you have. You get to compare notes about how the area has changed and it’s great to see the locals wandering through the gardens. We have received lots of comments about how beautiful the garden is looking since the volunteering program started.
For more information about volunteering at the rose garden, visit Council’s website and search for ‘Roxborough Park Rose Garden volunteering.’
The 2.6 kilometre shared path will be located on the southern side of Norwest Boulevarde, linking to shared paths on Windsor and Old Windsor Roads. Norwest and surrounding suburbs are home to thousands of families, businesses as well as two Metro stations, two hospitals, shopping complexes and more. The new shared pathway will make it possible for residents and commuters to travel through the Business Park with ease during peak hours.
This missing link will also connect to the Hills Shire’s broader cycleway network, including the 12-kilometre Greenway Cycleway that extends from Bella Vista to Rouse Hill Town Centre Construction of the cycleway is expected to start before Christmas this year.
