BY THE MARCH AND JULY 2022 FLOODS.

Devastated

Wisemans Ferry Park is renowned for its riverfront views and the onsite facilities, including a children’s playground, extensive open space, an onsite kiosk, amenities block, picnic shelters and seating and a BBQ area.

After the flood, Council crews and contractors worked hard to remove 120 tonnes of waste, including washed up water tanks, kayaks and even a horse trough. A further 7000 tonnes of sand, which equated to 250 truckloads, also had to be taken away.

The pathways, picnic settings, barbecue facilities and parts of the children’s playground that could be salvaged were all cleaned. New mulch and rubber softfall were also added to the playground area.

In addition to this, over 12,000m2 of new turf was laid, which can now be used for picnics or outdoor activities, such as soccer, cricket and touch football.

Wisemans Ferry Park is located at the end of Old Northern Road at Wisemans Ferry. For more information about the park, visit www.thehills.nsw.gov.au and search for ‘Wisemans Ferry Park.’
