Alice and The White Rabbit

Join Alice on her magical adventure as she chases the White Rabbit back in time. Watch her change size in this dream-like adaptation of the famous Lewis Carroll tale. The show celebrates different shadow techniques and is inspired by the Gothic architecture and medieval times of the original white rabbit statue found in St. Mary’s Church, Beverley, East Yorkshire.

The Promise MUSICAL

Three men’s life paths collide on the battlefields of Ireland in the 1800s. The Promise Musical chronicles the different experiences and emotions of these men.With incredible music, a powerful storyline, intense drama and a sprinkling of humour, The Promise is a musical not to be missed.

One Man Star Wars™ TRILOGY plus support

Canadian actor Charles Ross spent much of his childhood in a galaxy far, far away, watching Star Wars videos over - and over - and over again. The result of this misspent youth is his hilarious show, One Man Star Wars™ Trilogy, where he singlehandedly plays all the characters, sings the music, flies the ships, fights the battles and condenses the plots into just sixty minutes!

Swan Lake

While hunting, Prince Siegfried sees a magnificent swan, as he takes aim the swan turns into a beautiful woman. This is Princess Odette, the victim of an evil sorcerers spell, she spends her daylight hours as a swan, swimming in a lake of tears, by night she becomes a woman again. The spell will be broken only if a virgin prince swears eternal love to her. Swan Lake is their story. Second Age Theatre Company presents

Macbeth

Ireland’s award winning classics theatre company Second Age, is back with one of Shakespeare’s greatest and bloodiest plays. Expect a fast-paced thriller, with a sumptuous design and high octane physical performances. Macbeth promises to be an arresting and vivid take on one of the greatest tragedies of all time.

The Story of Perry Como

A night of magical nostalgia as Tony Jones and Kathy Nugent recreate the brilliance of Perry Como and Doris Day. Already twice a sell-out show, Como’s hits are timeless. The Nutcracker

Clara is asleep under the Christmas tree at the stroke of midnight, and the magic begins! Clara delves into a world of mice and soldiers, caught in a snowflake blizzard and swept into the kingdom of the sweets with the delectable Sugar Plum Fairy.

Christmas Crackers, Carols and Crooners

This hugely popular show returns to the Helix bringing all your favourite Christmas songs. This night of sing-along favourites are performed by our choirs, soloists and most importantly, you, the audience. Featuring The Portmarnock Singers, The CanBelto Ladies Choir, The Rock-its and the Song and Dance Kids, to name but a few. Soloists include Grainne Jordan, and Rachel and Lucy O’Byrne.

The Love Songs

As a very young girl, Toni Lee was touched by Karen Carpenter’s breathtaking voice, and by the wonderful arrangements of the Carpenter’s beautiful love songs. Do You Come Here Often?

Take a journey back to the golden era of the Irish Showband scene. It was a time when musicians put the show into showband! See the original superstars of the sixties including Brendan Bowyer from The Royal Showband, Sonny Knowles and Sean Fagan from The Pacific and a host of others.

Films

Whether you like to be scared, excited or charmed by a film we have something to suit you this season. We are showing family titles Little Women and Beauty and The Beast, cult classics like Pulp Fiction and The Shining as well as Christmas classics It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street. Booking Fee

A booking fee of €1 applies per ticket up to a maximum of €10. This applies to all booking methods. Once purchased tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.

Concessions

Some shows will have a concession. Please check our website or call the box office for availability. Please see our website for full terms and conditions surrounding booking tickets.

Latecomers

Doors to The Helix open two hours prior to a performance. Latecomers will only be admitted during a suitable break in performance. In the event of lateness, admission cannot always be guaranteed.

Bringing your family

Age appropriateness: The box office will inform you of the suitability of a show. Anyone over 12 months must hold a valid ticket. Babies: For the comfort and enjoyment of all, children under 12 months may not be admitted to certain performances. Please check with box office in advance. Baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor. A BIG thank-you to all the volunteers at The Helix whose continuous support and dedication to the venue proves invaluable to both staff and patrons.

The Helix art space, Exhibit, displays the work of 12 different artists per year. The exhibition area is located on the first floor of the building and exhibits are accessible during normal opening hours of the venue. Please see the listings or check the website for upcoming exhibitions.

Beauty and The Beast

Now in its fifth year The Helix Panto, produced by TheatreworX Productions, is back with its own zany version of Beauty and the Beast and promises another hilarious and enchanting pantomime. Starring Kyle Kennedy as the Beast, Lauren Nevin as Belle and welcoming back audience favourites Aidan Mannion, Eoin Cannon and Colin Hughes, their story is a witty twist on the classic tale known and loved for generations.
