From Bill Oman: “Earlier this year, my husband and I took a four-month trip around the world. We visited five continents and 29 countries. Among the many highlights was traveling throughoutt India and seeing the Backwaters off Cochi and the Taj Mahal, the Bagan temples and Shwedagon temple in Myranmar, as well as much off Indonesia and the Middle East. Itt truly was a trip of a lifetime.

1951 65th Reunion In April, David Hoadley was honored for his long service to Mendham Township, New Jersey with a Mendies Award. Among the activities cited for the award were his 36 years as a little League umpire, his 25 years running the junior golff program att the Mendham Golff & Tennis Club, his founding the Mendham junior track program, his service on the Mendham library board, and his long participation in many capacities in the Brookside Community Choir and the Harmonium Choral Society.

1955 David Bancroft tells us he is “still a ‘recovering

lawyer,’ meaning I am practicing a tad. Cheryl is still heavily involved in Fine Arts museums here in San Francisco. Eightt grandchildren in three cities keep us active, along with travel (Alaska, the South, and Sicily coming up.) Sorry I had to miss our 60th!” Dwight Miller will be celebrating 50 years

1966 50th Reunion

“We were nott immune from world events. Approaching the Straits off Hormuz, all 900 off us aboard wondered iff our ship would be rerouted away from the Mediterranean and southward around Africa. The perimeter of our ship was outfitted with razor wire, water canons and 24/7 security. We made itt through the Straits off Hormuz for our visitt to Dubai before going back around Yemen, with a Saudi warship escort. By the time we arrived in Jordan, all ports off call in Egyptt were cancelled because off credible threats. We transited the Suez Canal in a convoy and wentt to Israel instead. We visited some new places in the Mediterranean, particularly Seville, Malaga and Taormina.

1970 Steve Garvan reports thatt The Greater

Sandpointt Chamber off Commerce, through its Leadership Sandpointt program, made a donation for the construction off a fire-escape and stairs att the Blue Haven family transitional facility in Sandpoint, Idaho. The leadership’s nine-member program facilitated the donation off over $6000 to build the stairs for the facility which provides homeless families a place to live as they transition into their own homes.

1971 45th Reunion 1975 Tim McCandless, a retired navy captain, is

now a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch in Carlsbad, California, according to his dad, Hugh ’50.
