Editors Note... How did we get to November already? I´m writing this whilst it’s raining and a few degrees cooler than normal and it certainly feels like November at the moment! However, I know it can change just as quickly and be back to lovely winter sunshine with temperatures in the low to mid 20´s. That is the great thing about Spain its never grey and raining for very long, even when its cold we still have blue skies.

But the fruit could soon become even more popular after a Spanish company announced it is launching reduced-fat avocados for the first time.Isla Bonita claims their Avocado Light has up to 30% less fat than ordinary fruits. They also say it ripens faster, and oxidises - or goes that weird shade of brown slower. The avocados are grown under special soil and climate conditions to provide the same nutritional benefits with less fat, according to the company's website. Avocados are a foodie hit for their rich and creamy texture caused by their high fat content - an average fruit has between 20-30g of fat. Most of this is monosaturated fat, which has been linked to the reduction of cholesterol and lowered risk of cancer and heart disease.

Every year, Mitch France, who organises the Canillas de Albaida Multicultural Night, invites the Action for Animals team to rattle our collection tins. This year we raised a fabulous €117. Earlier this year, Julia Ruane organised a Cake and Bake Day at El Pilon and raised a brilliant €828.13. Our Christmas stall, which was previously organised by our now retired Sandiey Anne, is always a great success, last year raising an outstanding €1508.71. Please come along and join in the fun this year on December 9th at the Paseo de las Tradiciones in Cómpeta. In addition to these events, some of our wonderful supporters raise money for us by collecting their loose change into one of our Action for Animals home collection tins, and several bars and shops in the area also support us by having one of our collection boxes on their counters.

BUY A HOME SPAIN The Question: Local Static Office for the Few or World-wide Office for Everyone? ere is a question for all you people who want to sell a property. Do you think estate agents should spend lots of money on exhibitions and High Street offices or should it be spent on the Internet?

H

want to buy in Europe, in Spain, in the south of Spain, east of Málaga, in your town? Not many! And only a very few will see your home. Lots of people see offices, but how many of those people go inside and how many want to buy your property?

You may say 'Spend everywhere'. That would work, of course, but realistically, the money needs to be spent where it is most effective. In the past, local offices gave vendors confidence to list their properties for sale and, as with exhibitions, generated a certain amount of sales - but this gave very limited exposure, which was fine when there wasn't a better alternative. However, nowadays all this parochial marketing activity is at the expense of spending more money where potential buyers are concentrating their efforts – on the Internet.

More house-hunters than ever are now starting their search for a new home by looking online. Recent research revealed that usage of property portals in, for example, the UK, is now at a record high with 47% of the population having used a property search website in the last 12 months. Some 2.6m people in the U.K. browse property portals at least once a day. Other countries world-wide are similar.

If your property is exhibited at Europe's largest overseas property exhibition, out of the say, 7,000 people who attend, how many

Buy A Home Spain over recent years has been moving towards global internet marketing whilst also increasing its local presence. The time has arrived for them to think even bigger and place more emphasis on activity that covers both the local and global markets – via the Internet.

In addition to the increased Internet emphasis, and effective from 1st November 2017, Buy A Home Spain, rather than being just one member of Top House Spain, has now taken total control of the Group, and via a new website (still called buyahomespain.com), it will expose your property more effectively to buyers from over 1,000 estate agents. For the time being at least, they are keeping one office, their head office in Torre del Mar. But what do you think? Should they spend more money on such local offices, or should they spend it reaching to buyers from many countries throughout Europe and beyond? They value your views and would love to hear from you. A UNIQUE CONCEPT TO SPANISH PROPERTY SALES THAT WORKS!

C

reative Property Marketing are a wellestablished advertising agency, specialising in private property sales. The business is based just inland from Malaga city and helps owners sell their properties all over Spain (to include the islands). It provides sellers with a cost effective and very successful way to sell their home – finding buyers that, historically would be challenging to find. Creative Property Marketing is a registered Spanish SL and Sarah and David Rick, the owners of the company, help hundreds of sellers at any one time to sell their homes privately. The advertising reaches an audience of millions around the world, 24 hours per day, 365 days of the year, with the advertising campaign running for 12 months. This approach to selling Spanish property may be rather unique but this does not mean it is complicated – quite the opposite! The sellers provide photographs via email or send through a memory stick by post, the sellers answer questions about their home, a superb property description is produced for them

In more recent months, Mark Stucklin, a leading property sales journalist invited Creative Property Marketing to feature on his website; Spanish Property Insight. This was a real honour. Mark loved the Creative concept and the professional approach delivered by Sarah and David. He helps sellers of property, all over Spain with a multitude of problems. If you visit the Spanish Property Insight website you will be amazed what topics Mark talks about, all affecting how Spanish homes will sell today and in the future. Economics, property law and politics are just a few of the subjects written about. You can ask him questions also! The unique, approachable, professional and friendly way Creative Property Marketing work really interested Mark and their presence on his website gives balance. BODEGAS BENTOMIZ Wines & Lunches & Christmas

I

t's been an exciting year at Bodegas Bentomiz, the winery just above Sayalonga. Their Ariyanas wine range has got attention, at home (Málaga, Madrid, Barcelona) and abroad (especially the UK and Norway) with Masters of Wine such as Pedro Ballesteros, Julia Harding, Rose Murray Brown, and Merete Bø giving them excellent reviews.

The public enthusiasm has encouraged expansion. This summer saw the launch of Mountain Wine & Music summer events, with a classical pianist, flamenco artists, jazz bands and a soul quartet performing beside the bodega. Between sets guests enjoyed wine and gourmet tapas. With the vines so beautifully serenaded I'm sure this year's wines will be better than ever! Private bookings, such as Both Winery Tours and Winebirthday parties, are possible, Tastings, and the Gourmet 3 or 5 though interested parties should course lunches, are hugely book ahead. The winery is popular. On trip advisor reviews in normally open to the public from English, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Wednesday to Sunday all year, Russian, Polish and more have with tours and tastings at 12.30 titles like: which finish just before lunch at 2.00. “A Day to Remember”, “Fantastic Food & Wine in a Gorgeous “We've helped many agencies Setting”, offer something different,” Andre said. “Once, when two firms “Ekstraordinær oplevelse”, “Zeer made special arrangements, we indrukwekkend” and “Fantastisk” did 3 services in one day – 105

visitors!” All the guests were very happy … and so were we! … but there were a lot of wine glasses to wash! Now we are talking with a wedding planner about holding the ceremony here, next year, which will be terrific!” First there is Christmas, of course. Will Chefs André and Juan be cooking up something special? Of course! The Bodega will be opening as normal right through the Christmas season. But on Christmas Day and New Year's Day they will offer a gourmet 7course menu matched with the Ariyanas, and other superb wines, along with live music in the winesalon. This has to be the classiest way in Málaga to celebrate Christmas or welcome the New Year! See advert opposite

COFFEE IN SPAIN - THE DIFFERENT TERMS A Café Sombra in Malaga but a Manchada outside the Malaga Province

T

here are ten different ways of ordering in the province of Malaga and they all depend on the amount of coffee used. SOLO (BLACK): 100% coffee. LARGO (EXTRA STRONG): 90% coffee, 10% milk. SEMILARGO (STRONG): 80% coffee. SOLO CORTO (EXPRESSO): 60% coffee. MITAD (HALF AND HALF):# 50% coffee, 50% milk. ENTRECORTO (SEMI-SHORT): 40% coffee, 60% milk. CORTO (SHORT): 30% coffee, 70% milk. SOMBRA (SHADOW): 20% coffee, 80% milk. NUBE (CLOUD): 10% coffee, 90% milk. However here are other ways to order coffee that is recognised throughout all of Spain!

50 The Grapevine

Café solo: Espresso, the standard form of coffee in Spain. If it's too strong, you can order it with added water (con agua caliente ), but depending on the barista, they might scoff! Café con leche: Espresso with milk. This is the most popular form of coffee in Spain, and you'll find a decent cup in most cafés. Cortado: Espresso with a drop of milk. Sometimes called cafe manchado (stained coffee), not to be mistaken with leche manchada, which we'll get to in a moment. (NB: for reasons that may puzzle Spanish coffee aficionados for years to come, in Barcelona, the difference between a cafe con leche and a cortado has been lost. Therefore, you will find your Barcelonan cortado to be a lot milkier than elsewhere in the country. If you want to order a cortado in Barcelona like in the rest of Spain trying asking for a cortado con poca leche—or "a coffee with a little milk". In Germany, there is an erroneous tendency to sell a drink called a "café cortado" which is actually a café bonbon—see below).

milk. This is more like coffeeflavored milk than a "proper" coffee. Not very common, though it is more popular in the south (like in Seville, for example). Café descafeinado: Decaff coffee. You can ask for it from the machine (de maquina) or from a sachet (de sobre). Café con hielo: An espresso and a glass of ice. You're supposed to pour the espresso over the ice. Obviously, this is popular beverage during the hot summer months. Café bonbon: Espresso with sweetened condensed milk. Sometimes referred to as a café cortado condensada. A mix of half normal milk and half sweetened condensed milk is called a leche y leche. Cafe bonbon con hielo: Same as above, but poured over ice. It's the sort of thing Starbucks would call a Super Duper Wacky Frappuccino or something (and charge you twice the price).

Leche manchada: Or "stained milk", i.e. a little coffee and a lot of

ometimes you don't need a big construction job doing, sometimes you just need a chimney building, or a wall constructing, a pool cleaned or a garden maintained. Sometimes you don't need to call a large company just somebody that you trust that can help with those every day or one off needs. This is exactly what Jaime thought, so he has set up JMS Services. He is certainly not lacking in experience, credibility or knowledge. Last month I met Jaime properly for the first time. I have known the family for years as Jaime's mum owns Sunset Properties. His whole family, including his grandparents have lived in Competa for over 17 years.

54 The Grapevine

Jaime went to school and college in Spain, he speaks fluent Spanish and for the last 10 years he has had a varied work experience. He has worked for two of the major construction companies in Competa and also spent 18 months helping his step-dad build their own home which required lots of demolition and rebuilding. He spent 2 years working for a coastal company as a Maintenance Manager. Now it's time to work for himself. Over the last 10 years he has built up both experience and contacts with reliable plumbers, electricians and builders and feels fully equipped to offer a full maintenance service for all you home and everyday needs. Denise his mum already passes on work from her clients she has met through her company

“I first met Jamie nearly 5 years ago when he was working for a local builder. Over the past few years Jamie has carried out various construction projects for us and each time I am always amazed with his knowledge. Each project had been well thought through and set up before construction. I have nothing but praise for Jamie and his work. I would not hesitate to ask Jamie to do more work for me and I am delighted to fully recommend him and his work to others. You will not be disappointed.” Peter Slater Jamie has recently set up a Face book page which shows some of the work he has done, see his advert opposite for his contact details…. He looks forward to hearing from you! See Advert Opposite

SMOOTHIES A Delicious and Healthy Drink

W

hat are the best fruits to put in a smoothie if you want to get the most antioxidants in one serving? All fresh fruits are good options. Firstly, aim to consume at least two portions of fruit a day, but you can happily increase that to four. Remember fruits are also typically nutritious in a variety of other ways. They contain fiber, have vitamins and minerals that are not necessarily antioxidants, and have naturally occurring phyto-chemicals unique to foods. The USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging in Boston has developed an assay called ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity), which qualifies the antioxidant capacity of foods. Fresh blueberries have a high level of ORAC, 2 400 per 100g.

Good Smoothies Are NutrientDense & Contain Fat The best smoothies are made with natural, all real, nutrientdense ingredients that provide vitamins and oils necessary for good more complete nutrition. Fat is required for biological functions and is burned by your body for energy. A truly healthy smoothie should have some dietary fat for the body to use in assimilating the vitamins. Simply blending a banana with ice and

skim milk does provide a great deal of benefits or nutrients. Smoothies Help Keep You Hydrated A smoothie for breakfast helps you get hydrated for the day, something soda and coffee won't do. Since your body pulls water from many foods in order to stay hydrated, you won't have to drink water when you're sipping on a smoothie (especially a homemade one without sugar). Milk and yogurt are largely water, so if your smoothie is dairy-based, you'll quench your thirst. In hot weather, add some ice cubes to the blender for extra water. The best way to get nutrition is from food, and consuming a healthful smoothie every day gives you most of your nutrition in one proven, delicious dosage.

DESSERT WINES The Perfect Way to End Your Meal

I

f you ask any group of wine enthusiasts what they think of dessert wines, you are likely to get mixed reactions. Some wine drinkers wouldn't think of "insulting" their palate with sweet or fortified wines, while others wouldn't dare end a meal without a delightful dessert wine. As with many things in the wonderful world of wine, there are many degrees of taste involved.

However, if the wine is sweeter than the dessert, taking a bite of dessert will actually calm the sweetness of the wine somewhat.

STORING WINE Get the Best Out of Your Wine

O

ver the years, wine consumption has become more and more popular. With more and more money going into wine both as an investment and for later consumption, the history of the wine will always be in question. With this in mind, many people often wonder how they can properly store their wine and take care of it at the same time. How you store your wine is extremely important. If you store it right it can lead to euphoria, while if you store it wrong it can lead to depression. When you tear into a bottle of wine that has properly been stored, it can be glorious indeed, while tearing into bottle of poorly stored wine can be quite the letdown. Often times, drinking a bottle of wine that was poorly stored is much like drinking vinegar. To properly store wine, you’ll need to meet several factors, such as humidity, temperature, lighting, the cleanliness of your storage area, the angle of the bottle while it is stored, and the vibration of the bottle on the rack. The temperature is the most important, as you should keep it around 50 degrees at all times. This way, the

60 The Grapevine

lower temperature can help to age the wine. If there are any fluctuations in the temperature, you should make sure that it happens slowly. As long as the temperature doesn’t go to high and it fluctuates slowly, your wine should be ok. The proper level of humidity for storing wine should be around 70%, although it is perfectly accepted to keep it 10% above or below the 70% level. If you have too high of a humidity temperature, the labels can easily rot or mold, which can affect the wine’s value. On the other hand, if the humidity gets too low, around 50%, the cork could shrink and bring air into the wine, which would ruin it in little to no time at all. The angle that wine is stored is important as well. If the wine stays in contact with the cork during storage, the cork won’t dry out. If the wine doesn’t stay in contact with the cork, the cork could dry out and allow air into the wine. You should also strive to keep the wine out of the light, as light can ruin any type of wine. Light causes the wine to age prematurely, making it in your best interest to store wine in a dark location.

from sediment, you should also store wine in a location that is free of vibration. If you store wine in places that are free from vibration, it will give the sediment in the bottle ample time to settle. Vibrations are never a good thing for wine, as the sediment becomes unsettled and can ruin the wine or shake it to the point where it tastes horrible. To protect the quality and investment of your wine, storage and care is very important. Storing it in a proper location will also bring the best taste. In the world of wine, nothing is more disappointing than waiting several years to open a bottle of fine wine, only to find that it is nothing but vinegar. You can prevent this from happening though, by taking care of your wine. Wine isn’t hard to care for or storeFeature Articles, it just takes the right conditions and location. Everyone loves some fine wine every now and then which is why storage and care is so very important these days.

pounds less pressure. Finally, daily stretching keeps muscles flexible and maintains good range of motion in you joints. Talk with your doctor about your plan to work out so that she and you can track your progression and tweak your weekly routine for the best result.

WHY DO WE EXERCISE A Heathly Mind and Body

W

hy do you exercise? To lose weight? Protect your health? Tone your body from head to toe?* Maybe you want to build strength and stamina to play with your kids or grandkids or to continue to enjoy your favourite physical activity, whether that’s hiking, kayaking or golf. Maybe you work out to improve your memory. Improve memory? Yep. Research shows that exercise strengthens not only your body but your brain. And if that doesn’t blow your mind, we have a few more scientific findings that might. 1. Exercise can help you achieve life balance. How many times have you heard someone say, I just don’t have time to exercise? Sure, life is busy. Especially now that we have mobile devices that allow anyone and everyone—the office, the kids, the spouse--to contact us anywhere, anytime, day or night. Work intrudes on home life and home interferes with work. So…taking time out of your busy day to exercise is going to help, you ask? The answer is, yes. Research surveyed 476 working adults and found that those who worked out regularly felt they were more capable of creating

62 The Grapevine

balance between home and office. The researchers speculate that because exercise takes you out of those environments, it allows you to psychologically detach from those places and their demands. It gives you some space to refresh and achieve a little mind-body balance. The scientists also point out that working out makes us feel good about ourselves. And when we feel good about ourselves we’re much better at untangling any conundrum. 2. Exercise can slow arthritis and reduces pain. Don’t let painful joints keep you from your Curves workout. Regular exercise will not only slow the progression of arthritis, it will help ease the pain. Hard to believe, right? If your joints are damaged, why would you subject them to the pressures of exercise? Because you’ll be happier if you do. The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases in America recommends exercise as "one of the best treatments for osteoarthritis." By strengthening the muscles that support your joints you’re transferring workload from your joints to your muscles, which not only slows damage but relieves pain. Regular exercise, also helps you manage your weight—fewer

3. Exercise can help improve and restore memory. Remember this benefit from the beginning of this piece? If not, you might want to go work out. Research has previously shown that aerobic exercise, like running, boosts memory, but a recent study at Georgia Tech found that resistance training, like the Curves circuit, also sharpens recall. Participants in the study were given 90 images to look at and then were divided into two groups: one that performed 50 reps on a leg extension machine and a control group that went through the motions but didn’t exert any effort. Forty-eight hours later, both groups were given 180 images to look at—a mix of 90 new images and the 90 previously viewed photos. The nonexercisers remembered 50 percent of the photos and the exercisers scored 60 percent. More news about the brainbuilding power of exercise comes out of the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, where, in 2012 researchers put 41 stroke patients on a six-month exercise program that included walking and resistance workouts. At the end of the program, the patients showed improvements in memory, language, thinking, and judgment by almost 50 percent.

Add these rewards to the many reasons that you exercise regularly and post them on your fridge. We guess you won’t miss too many workouts. Claire Kowalchik

TODOS LOS SANTOS All Saints Day November 1st

A

ll Saints' Day is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church celebrated annually on November 1. The day is dedicated to the saints of the Church, that is, all those who have attained heaven. It should not be confused with All Souls' Day, which is observed on November 2, and is dedicated to those who have died and not yet reached heaven. Although millions, or even billions of people may already be saints, All Saints' Day observances tend to focus on known saints --that is those recognized in the canon of the saints by the Catholic Church. The traditional thing to do on November 1st is to purchase flowers, especially chrysanthemums and present them as gifts to their loved ones. It is the day of the year when the most flowers are sold, and the

cemeteries are filled with colour from every type of flower imaginable. A beautiful sight to see, indeed! Churches also hold mass in memories of those deceased to supposedly shorten their time spent in purgatory.

consists of townsfolk gathering for an outside get-together and keep warm by eating the “castañas” (chestnuts) that someone roasts and sells in the most traditional of ways: in a small bonfire or using a modern grill.

Despite the feeling of sadness one would think should pertain to Dia de Todos los Santos, this day is not just about mourning the loss of loved ones. It is also a day to celebrate life. Popular activities for such purpose are eating traditional sweets (more on that below) and participating in familyfriendly activities such as going to see José Zorilla's 1844 play “Don Juan Tenorio”, traditionally staged in theatres across the country. The character of the play is closely related to the dead.

You may want to head out to Cádiz for the Fiesta de Todos los Santos. The locals really "paint the town red" and go all out with parades, fireworks, markets selling all types of local products, children´s activities and magic shows. The city celebrates this holiday for a whole week (starting even before November 1st!), so festivities will be abundant.

Another activity, one especially popular in the north of Spain, is to head out to the streets or the countryside for a traditional “castañada”. The castañada

There are times when it is easy to forget how catholic Spain can be but All Saints’ Day is a powerful reminder of the importance of religion, and of the family, even in the modern age.

s the year draws towards a close and darker nights arrive, there's doom and gloom in the campo; the terrible trio are with us and sending shivers down the spine! I've written before individually on them but some of these articles were some time back and the threats are so great that I think an update would be useful to us all.

a great threat to important crop trees. Insects as varied as scale insects, aphids, mosquitos and cicadas are all thought to be vectors, passing the bacteria from one plant to another. But, as usual, it is man (and woman!) that is doing and has done the main damage. The transport of live plants worldwide is a huge and profitable business; some of this plant material is infected.

Unfortunately, the earlier stages can easily go undetected or be confused with other more minor problems; it is often mistaken for stress because of the long hot summer, wind damage, or because of salinity in the water – all will produce a similar pattern of damage. A certain sign is when branches are cut, they display a blackness of the internal wood.

When I last wrote about xylella (in March), it was restricted to the Spanish Islands but it has now been detected in Valencia province where there are 26 distinct outbreaks. The Junta de Andalucía are taking it very seriously. More Xylella fastidiosa, known as the agricultural technicians have been ebola of the olives, is the most employed to give advice and make recent and its effects have not yet inspections. They have a 'hot-line' been seen here but we all have (tel. 955059898) and are available good reason to be terrified of it. It on is a bacteria that, at the moment, info.xylella@juntadeandaluciia.es has no cure and can affect over The Red de Alerta de Información 300 species, some of the most Fitosanitaria (RAIF) have an app to important being olive, orange, install on your mobile which uses The bacteria works by blocking lemon, almond, grapevine, GPS to track possible outbreaks water flow from the roots to the avocado, peach, nectarine, plum, and also enables photos to be sent plant; strangulation is slow and pear, blueberry and ornamentals inevitable. Some will simply be acupunctatus is not being taken as will show dry twigs and branches, carriers of the bacteria and show seriously but it is certainly causing no signs of the plague but they are increasing until the tree dies. THE TERRIBLE TRIO: the 'ebola' of the olive trees; the black weevil/picudo negro of agaves and red weevil/picudo rojo of palms.

In Spain there are some 2.5 million hectares of olives; 60% of those are in Andalucía. Málaga province alone has 130,000 hectares of olives; 16,000 of almonds, 6,000 of avocado, 4,000 of grapevines. Now you can see why Andalucía – and Spain as a whole - is trembling. The olive harvest alone, within Spain, is worth 1,800 million euro annually; the almond harvest is worth 60 million euro and citrus over 2000 million euro.

havoc amongst our agaves and, to a lesser degree, aloes, yuccas and dracaenas. Again, when I last wrote about this evil weevil, it was still far from Andalucía but it has certainly landed here now. It arrived from Mexico and is devastating those plants that are such a distinctive part of our landscape and are so incredibly useful in dry gardens and parks. It loves elevated temperatures, so this long hot summer has suited it well and especially the warmer southern areas of Spain. At 2.8 cm long, it is smaller than the palm weevil but still very distinctive. The female can lay up to 500 eggs at a time and the beetles and grubs carry a bacteria called erwina carotovora. As they eat, the bacteria is released into the plant tissues where it multiplies rapidly causing rotting and the collapse of the plant. If you want to try and save infected agaves, spraying with systemic insecticides containing imidacloprid or clorpirifos seems to have some success but they are very damaging to our environment. The weevils seem to go for the largest and lushest agaves; youngsters are often left alone so maybe, once the invaders have moved on, you can replant the 'pups'. Because the plant is not a native of Spain (it was introduced by the conquistadores from the 'New World') and has, in some areas, become rather a pest (it is on the register of invasive plants and can be a nightmare to get rid of!) the authorities have decided to take no action against the weevil using it, instead, as a form of biological control. Let's just hope that it doesn´t entirely wipe out these majestic giants. Friend or foe, they have had a worthy past used for fibre extraction and building materials. Our skylines will certainly look very different without them. And to round up the terrible trio, I must update you on the picudo rojo or red weevil of the palms.

This one has been in Spain for some 30 years now and was even detected in the United Kingdom last year. We may have become rather complacent about it, but it is still very much around and in full

palms. The palms react by activating their natural defence systems to high levels, making them unpalatable to the weevil grubs. The drones can reach palms up to 15m or more high and even on windy days; they are capable of injecting 140 palms daily. Tests have been carried out in Abanilla in Murcia, which has the second most important palm plantation in Spain with some 25,000 specimens, and results were excellent. The use of drones in urban areas, of course, is strictly prohibited but a special EU ruling is expected shortly which would give special permission for the palm drones. It's a great biological solution, but before you go calling up your drone, there is a downside to this tale. Each application costs between €7,000 and €10,000 so you've got to love your palm a lot! But technology has come to the rescue, firstly by detecting infected palms both by smell and the sound of the grubs chewing and forming a nationwide network of the spread. In particular, more fundraisers are needed to work with our team, people are required to help with the feeding of the cats at the numerous feeding stations maintained by CAS, and animal lovers who could undertake a monthly airport run are necessary to take animals being re-homed in northern Europe to catch their flights. In addition, fosterers are always required to take short-term care of animals until a permanent home can be found for them. Even if you are only here for few months a year, CAS would appreciate your help. For a no-obligation chat, contact Vera on 95 252 9670 for general enquiries.
