‘Ladies and Gentlemen, please take your seats as this evening’s performance is about to continue...’ We’re delighted to finally be able to begin to welcome you back to the Gordon Craig Theatre. It’s been 15 long and quiet months since we closed our doors back in March 2020 for what we thought would be a short interval. Suffice to say, we are tremendously looking forward to seeing audiences return and recreating the magical atmosphere that only live theatre can create. During our hibernation, we’ve been helped by you – our loyal customers who overwhelmingly chose to keep your tickets for a rescheduled date, accept a credit on your account for use in the future or donated your ticket money in aid of our recovery. We’ve been lucky to have successfully bid not once, but twice to the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund for which we’ll be forever grateful. And as always, we remain grateful to Stevenage Borough Council for their continued support. Our small but extremely committed team have been working diligently behind the scenes in order to prepare for your safe return and I extend my thanks to each of them too. This Autumn, we’ll be picking up where we left off; with the very best in music, comedy, dance, opera, family shows and of course our much loved traditional family pantomime, Aladdin. Preparations for Aladdin are well underway, the magic carpet has been freshly vacuumed and the joke book has been dusted off! It’s no exaggeration to say that tickets are selling fast, so book you favourite seats now to avoid disappointment. Comedy comes in the form of John Bishop, Sarah Millican, Jason Manford and Ed Byrne amongst others all guaranteed to bring that much needed smile to your face. We have not forgotten the little ones either, why not treat the kids with a trip to see one of their favourite characters in Peppa Pig, Milkshake Live! or the much loved classic Dear Zoo. Music fans will revel at the return of some familiar faces as well as the arrival of some new ones, Wet, Wet, Wet!, Boyzlife, Sixties Gold and the Magic of Motown are just of few of the highlights gracing our stage over the coming months. T.Rextasy have now been performing around the world for over 20 years, a career that ironically out lives Marc’s very own T.Rex. The band is now accepted as the world’s only official live tribute band dedicated to Marc Bolan & T.Rex, and the only band endorsed and approved by Marc Bolan’s family, estate, original ex-members of T.Rex, and Bolan’s catalogue management. Everyone that came in 2018 and 2019 had a great time and we have had so many requests to do it again So here we are back on the road with his great friend and agent Terry Baker from A1 Sporting speakers once again asking the questions Vip ticket holders will have a chance to meet him and have a photograph with him jointly holding the FA Cup before the show. BOOKING INFORMATION THE BOX OFFICE You can book online 24 hours a day at www.gordon-craig.co.uk. The Box Office phones lines are currently open Tues – Thurs 10am2pm. On performance days the box office will open for in person bookings a minimum of two hours before the start of the show until 15 minutes after curtain up. Please be advised that 30 minutes prior to each performance in person callers at the Box Office will be given priority over telephone callers. METHODS OF PAYMENT Please pay by card where possible. Visa, MasterCard and Maestro are accepted. Cheques are to be made payable to Stevenage Leisure Ltd. Cash and Gordon Craig Theatre vouchers are also accepted. Tickets will be held at the Box Office for collection or can be posted out for £1.00 RESERVATIONS Tickets may be reserved for three working days, without payment, subject to availability but must be confirmed with payment or cancelled no later than 24 hours before the performance. REFUNDS AND RE SALES We regret that tickets cannot be refunded unless a performance is postponed or cancelled when only the face value of the ticket will be refunded. The face value of re-sold tickets will be refunded to a gift voucher; tickets may be exchanged for a different performance within the run of the same show. All exchanges and re-sales are at the management’s discretion and are subject to a 10% administration fee. This will help to reduce the volume of traffic queuing at the end of the evening. There are limited parking spaces available for Blue Badge Holders, these are located on the service road at the front of the theatre, these spaces are subject to the usual restrictions, are policed by traffic wardens and cannot be pre-booked. Please note that patrons are unable to park in the Stevenage Leisure Park. This is operated by a private company and your vehicle may be clamped.
