Multiple businesses will be sharing information and more at vendor booths during Anthem Days. Live musical entertainment will be offered throughout the weekend, with Uncorked the Band playing on Saturday and Jacob Tyler Lucas Band playing on Sunday. A kids’ zone with inflatables will also be offered; fees apply for this activity. Saturday’s activities include a multisport competition sponsored by OSR Physical Therapy, and a trail mix station, sponsored by the Anthem Youth Advisory Council, at the ACC booth. The annual Anthem Days Salsa Contest will also be held on Saturday, and event participants

are invited to weigh in with their taste buds to select the People’s Choice award. A panel of judges will determine first through third place winners. Salsa contest entrants need to register online by March 17; see more info at OnlineAtAnthem.com/anthem-days. An egg hunt will be featured on Sunday, which will include the Hippity Hop Band, Mother Nature, and Peter Cottontail. New this year, an egg hunt exclusively for special needs children will precede the public egg hunt, at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, on Softball Field #4. Also on Sunday, get close-up to some furry friends at a petting zoo, and enjoy pony rides, too. Fees will apply for the petting zoo and pony rides. The Rotary will offer a beer garden. “If a hydrant is identified as out of service, it will be reported immediately to the water department for repair and follow up. It will also be tagged as “out of service” until repaired,” Gilleland said.

This testing allows for the crews to identify available hydrants in communities, ensure the hydrants will perform as expected, and flushes out any debris that may have collected in the water line, preventing damage to pumping equipment. Crews may also use the time for training with coupler attachments, hoses, or other skills training.
