RIO VERDE – A wildfire caused by lightning that ignited on August 3, approximately two miles northeast of the Fort McDowell Reservation and four miles northeast of Rio Verde, continues to grow. Firefighters say that activity has increased on the south side of the fire due to outflow winds from thunderstorms. At the time this was written the Verde Fire had burned approximately 1,960 acres of desert located approximately 15 miles northeast of Scottsdale, and was zero percent contained as of August 6, according to social media posts from the

Tonto National Forest. “Firefighters are monitoring fire movement and a Type 3 Incident Management Team has been ordered to assume command of the fire if necessary,” Tonto National Forest’s Public Affairs Officer, Carrie Templin, stated in a press release on August 5. The fire is burning on the east side of the Verde River, near Black Mesa, fueled by grass and brush in a remote area with limited road access for fire crews. Most of the movement is to the northeast and southwest,

Cartwright’s hosts a dinner ‘Paw Tea’ for Jimmy Dean

Jimmy Dean waiting to be served his meal at Cartwright's Modern Cuisine at his special "Paw Tea" on July 30. Chef Brett Vibber prepared him a special meal of bison, rice, beans and greens.

BY TARA ALATORRE

CAVE CREEK – A couple of weeks ago The Foothills Focus reported on Jimmy Dean, a very special dog retiree at Rusty’s Angels Sanctuary, who has been checking off his bucket list items since being diagnosed with bladder cancer. Well Jimmy has been slaying that bucket list since we last saw him at Daisy Mountain Fire

Department’s Station 146 on July 19. So far Jimmy Dean has: gone to dog beach in San Diego; visited the pier; went to Sunset Cliffs; visited Rosecrans National Cemetery; was featured on the front page of a newspaper; went to Flagstaff and was a horse whisperer for a day; hiked Humphrey’s Peak; became a supermodel complete

with a photoshoot; and has eaten many yummy treats in between. Then on July 30, Cartwright’s Modern Cuisine hosted a private “Paw Tea” complete with a special meal cooked by one of the Valley’s most respected chefs, Brett Vibber, which included bison, rice, beans and greens. While the party was jovial at the Cave Creek restaurant the

underlying reason was a somber one. “Jimmy Dean is now having good days and bad days. Which is expected. Some days we can barely get him to eat and other days he is peppy and hungry. His abdomen is pretty hard at this point, so the cancer has grown for sure. Our goal at this point is that he is comfortable until he lets us now it is time,”

stated Emilee Spear, founder of Rusty’s Angels Sanctuary. Spear says Jimmy was supposed to be her date at Cartwright’s this November for the annual Sir Barks A Lot’s Fashion Paw Tea fundraiser for the Scott Foundation, which a non-profit organization that works with Arizona foster kids and partners with Rusty’s Angels. However, their date was made prior to his cancer diagnosis. Not wanting Jimmy Dean to miss out on the party, the Scott Foundation helped organized the event at Cartwright’s last week, checking off another bucket list item for Jimmy Dean. “About 15 people came, they gave Jimmy Dean lots of love, and chef Brett Vibber cooked a special meal just for Jimmy and he loved it,” Spear said. Jimmy even wore a tuxedo to his exclusive party and Spear said there was a rainbow on the ride home from Cartwright’s. A perfect ending to the evening. “He hasn't been doing well for the last two days. We are just trying to keep him comfortable,” Spear said about Jimmy’s health on August 5. You can continue to follow Jimmy Dean on Rusty’s Angels Facebook and Instagram pages. If you would like more information about the Fashion Paw Tea on November 16, visit ScottFoundation.org.

Author talk and book signing at Desert Foothills Library CAVE CREEK – Katrina Shawver, author of “HENRY: A Polish Swimmer’s True Story of Friendship from Auschwitz to America,” will be available for purchase and book signing. The event takes place on August 13, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. at the Desert Foothills Library, 38443 N. Schoolhouse Road in Cave Creek. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP online at dfla.org or call 480-488-2286. Local author Katrina Shawver will share stories of writing her book. It will include behind-thescenes photos not included in the book and touch on Polish history 1939-1945. This true story is both a witness to the Holocaust through Polish eyes and the story of how a Polish (Catholic) competitive swimmer survived Auschwitz and Buchenwald by his wits, humor, luck, and friends. The book fills a huge gap in historical accounts of Poles during WWII. Both Katrina, and Henry Zguda, the subject of her biography, are from Phoenix. For additional information on library programs, contact Ashley Ware of the Desert Foothills Library at 480-488-2286. He was just a horse. I realize that there are more important losses, like the death of a child, parent or spouse. Still, heartbreaking grief is the result of love. And I loved him. Baxter was about 31-yearsold. A giant of a horse, he was well- mannered and would do just about anything you asked him to do. Unless what are you were asking him to do interfered with his plans to do something else (like grazing on pasture). He was kind and had a sweet disposition. In other words, Baxter was the best horse ever! Baxter loved children and was the perfect “kid horse.” He has carried four grandsons, three nieces and numerous neighbor children of all ages on his back. He liked little girls best of all (especially if they put ribbons in his mane) and did not mind if two (possibly three small ones) were riding at the same time. No saddle required. Adults could ride him too. He was the beloved “family horse,” and any adult nonrider could safely get on him in the arena. He has had more photos taken with people riding him than Roy Roger’s horse Trigger! Daughters, nieces, son-in-laws, neighbors, cousins and friends sat happily on his back as he would trot them around in circles. Baxter also liked to be ridden on the trail. He never walked too fast, unless a mountain lion was stalking him (in his mind) and at times he wouldn’t move at all. One time I rode him off the property and he didn’t want to go, so he started walking backwards down the road (maybe he thought I wouldn’t notice). He was undertrained and over-indulged. This goofy horse was filled with mischief, yet always a safe and gentle ride.

Baxter had many talents. He could take a huge swig of water and hold it in his mouth for a very long time. Then, without warning, he would spit the water out like a stream coming from a water pistol! He did this to a few neighbors and liked to walk up to folks and squirt them in the face. (Not very neighborly). He would often stick his tongue out and had a habit of nipping (mostly other horses). And he loved to roll in the mud after a good rain. Baxter fell in love with a little filly named Sedona and for nine years he was smitten. When Sedona died suddenly, Baxter was inconsolable. He paced the barn, refused to eat and his

forelock turned pure white. He got an ulcer. But a small pony named Buttercup, brought him back to life and they were together for years. Baxter experienced the joy of love and the agony of loss. He showed patience to adults and affection to children, all the time displaying the personality of Dennis the Menace or Mr. Ed. He is gone now. Baxter took that last trail on the pain-free, glorious path leading to the gates of heaven where he will get his wings. I will be riding him in my dreams. No saddle required. Report litter on state highways with a simple call: Dial 511 PHOENIX – Reporting drivers who toss trash out of their vehicles isn’t literally as easy as 1-2-3, but ADOT has made it nearly as simple by allowing drivers to quickly make a report by dialing another simple number: 511. That’s the number to ADOT’s recently enhanced Arizona Traveler Information line, which now features an option to report litterbugs on state highways. Once drivers call 511, they can select the second option for the litter hotline. Callers are then asked to provide a license plate number, type of litter, location and time of day. ADOT uses the information to send a letter to the vehicle’s registered owner to remind the person that littering is illegal and can result in a $500 fine when

Pictured: Volunteers collect litter on the side of an Arizona highway.

witnessed by law enforcement. ADOT’s letter includes a

program motto. ADOT issued more than 1,300 of those letters in the past year. The letter also informs drivers of the high price of litter, as it costs more than $4 million a year to remove trash from Arizona highways. Plus, roadside trash leaves residents and visitors with a poor impression of Arizona. The 511 option for reporting litter is one of several ways ADOT allows drivers to report drivers who litter as part of the Adopt A Highway program. Top-5 Arizona fishing and camping spots for this August

BY NICK WALTER

Sun sweats, triple-digit fidgets, dog days -- they seem to make most outdoors lovers crave cool times in the high country. Some of the best family camping and fishing options include waters with stocked or self-sustaining fish, quality camping amenities, and striking scenery. Those factors were used by AZGFD fishing report editors and regional staff to determine this list. Be sure to check the latest fire restrictions(https:// firerestrictions.us/az/). It’s a good idea to reserve a campground in advance if possible, but if you’re looking for a walk-in site, consider booking your spot before you start fishing. Finally, please remain vigilant with fire safety, and also be safe with summer monsoon storms — get off the

water when you hear lightning, watch out for flash flooding, and don’t forget to bring a few extra layers and a rain jacket to stay comfortable in the mountain cold. OK, here is this year’s top5 list of family camping and fishing spots. 5. Ashurst Lake At 7,113 feet in elevation, this 229-acre lake southeast of Flagstaff has good shoreline access, wide-open water for boat anglers, and has had great summer fishing. Anglers have been catching trout on the lake using PowerBait and lures. The fish are moving deeper as the water warms. Try flies or lures to catch the bigger trout. Bait anglers fishing worms under a bobber have been catching some fish. There is a boat ramp and 50 single-unit campsites (25

at each of two campgrounds on both sides of the lake) with tables, fire rings, cooking grills, plus drinking water and vault toilets. A seasonal store typically operates out of a trailer from late spring to early September. Don’t forget your crayfish traps — the lake is full of “mudbugs.”

Many consider grilled bratwursts a campfire tradition. Make sure to check for latest fire restrictions: firerestrictions.us/az/.

(Courtesy Zach Beard/AZGFD)

Directions: Take Forest Highway 3 (Lake Mary Road) and turn east on Forest Road 82. The lake will be 4 miles away. 4. Bear Canyon Lake Bear Canyon has good water quality (due to its max depth of 50 feet), appears to be near full, and as of mid-July had no fire restrictions. Plus, we added an additional 3,000 fish

to the already scheduled 2,000 catchable rainbow trout that were stocked. There’s no public boat launch, so the only option at this walk-in lake is to bring “carryable” boats.

Movie Review

BY MONTE YAZZIE FILM CRITIC

“Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,” “Freebie and the Bean,” “Tango and Cash,” “Turner & Hootch”…. “Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.” It continues the story tradition of the “buddy” film formula; two unlikely, often complete opposite characters are somehow forced into cooperation and are whisked into a narrative that involves hijinks, adventure, crime or romance. We’ve had follies with escaped convicts, escapades with rogue cops, and jaunts that pair human and animal. “Hobbs & Shaw,” are two foes who first threw each other through windows and broke

FAST AND FURIOUS PRESENTS: HOBBS & SHAW Director: David Leitch Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, Helen Mirren, and Cliff Curtis Monte’s Rating 2.25 out of 5.00 each other over furniture in “Furious 7,” and then continued their fighting while working together in “The Fate of the Furious.” Somehow the movie has a little bit of everything thrown into its lofty narrative structure.

This is an action movie plain and simple, a summer blockbuster extravaganza with enough “boom” and “bang” to fill two movies. It fully understands how to utilize its action movie super humans. Allowing enough witty one-liners and tree-chopping

put downs to fill the spaces with enough humor in between action set pieces, which distracts from the glaring lapses in narrative design. Still, if you’ve seen all eight “Fast and Furious” films, watched all four of the “The Transporter” movies, or watched Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson deliver wrestling moves in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), then you know exactly what to expect from “Hobbs & Shaw.” A genetically enhanced bad guy (Idris Elba) with a physicsdefying motorcycle is trying to steal a dangerous, world-ending virus. He is thwarted by a special agent (Vanessa Kirby), who steals the weapon and retreats into hiding. That’s when Lawman Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and outcast Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) are called in, unbeknownst to each other, to form a team to save the world. Director David Leitch, who helmed “Atomic Blonde” and “Deadpool 2,” understands how to craft an action scene, and how to provide that crucial element of fan service. When working with a franchise like “Fast and Furious” that has built expectations so high for deathdefying action scenes, applying the right amount fan service can be a difficult task. “Hobbs & Shaw” hits all the obvious marks, fans get a few

explosive car chases, tough guy humorous banter between The Rock and Statham, and several bone-crushing fist fights. The film is checking all the boxes. But there is unfortunately something missing. The element of coherence and logic in storytelling has all but been erased from the “Fast and Furious” films, as the franchise has been dominating the action film genre. The element of drama and emotion that fleshes out their over-heroic characters, which has been replaced with heavyhanded emotional scenes that feel out of place. In the case of “Hobbs & Shaw,” it’s a “bromance” that plunges awkwardly between moments that are trying to be heartfelt and humorous. This dramatic element succeeds a handful of times when Johnson and Statham work individually with other characters in the film, unfortunately it seldom exists between the two leads. “Hobbs & Shaw” highlights the primary expectations fans of the “Fast and Furious” franchise are looking for. The action moves closer to comic book movie status, while the humor works on the most superficial terms. For the last film of the 2019 summer blockbuster movie season, “Hobbs & Shaw” is an easy, simple, unremarkable distraction.

There is only dispersed camping in the nearby forest, but you don’t have to pay fees in order to camp. Directions: See Google driving directions. 3. Fool Hollow Lake Don’t be fooled: this is an excellent fishery for getting the family into the outdoors and onto sunfish and mudbugs (crayfish). Fool Hollow Lake State Park has excellent family-fishing amenities such as clean and spacious campgrounds, picnic areas and fishing piers. The lake nearly reached full pool and both boat ramps are in good condition. Kids can catch sunfish off piers and over rocky shoreline areas using No. 12 hooks and small pieces of worms. Crayfish can be trapped here as well. See a video on how to catch both. The lake has self-sustaining populations of largemouth and smallmouth bass, sunfish, walleye, carp, catfish, black crappie and black bullhead that are easy for kids to catch (try a simple worm on the bottom). Fishing also is good for 12inch stocked rainbow trout — try fishing at least 10 feet deep. Directions: Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area is located in east-central

Suspect

Victim:

Goodwill Store

White male, 165 – 185 lbs., short dark, white t-shirt, dark shorts, and dark tennis shoes with white socks. Blue, white and black backpack.

On Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at approximately 4:15 a.m., the suspect arrived at the Goodwill located at 13226 N. 7th Street and attempted to burglarize a large storage container behind the store. After approximately 30 minutes of trying to gain entry without success, the suspect lit the storage container on fire which then spread to the building itself causing structural damage. An Arizona summertime family staple. Cutthroats have been biting on and off, and there are plenty of rainbow trout along with lots of crayfish for kids if the trout are not biting. The best part may be the excellent and plentiful campground amenities. There are two subspecies of cutthroat at Big Lake: Snake River finespot cutthroat, which are more commonly caught in Railroad Cove and prefer dry flies or nymphs, especially in the mornings and evenings, and Bonneville cutthroat, which are behaving more like rainbows and cruising along the bottom or several feet off bottom. Trolling should be effective for both rainbows and Bonnevilles. Shore-angling is still an option, but as the summer goes along, you might want a boat (rentals are available at the store) because most trout will be deep. Trolling from a boat is the most productive method during the summer. If shore fishing, get out early or late in the day, and take cover in your vehicle or camp during monsoon/lightning storms. Directions: Big Lake is accessed via state routes 260 and 273 (Forest Road 113). See Google driving directions. 1. Woods Canyon Lake The Arizona nerve center of friends, families, fishing, and camping, Woods filled and spilled, has a newly paved parking lot and road leading to the boat ramp, and has been stocked with tiger trout. Along with nearby Willow Springs Lake, Woods is scheduled to be loaded with rainbow trout weekly. For families that don’t enjoy camping

in a tent or camper during the summer monsoon storms, the closest lodging is at Forest Lakes Lodge, just 11 1/2 miles away on Highway 260. A little tip: refuel your automobile at the Rim Resort Filling Station, just a mile east of the Forest Lakes Lodge on Hwy 260. Call 928-535-9682 to ensure it’s open. At this small town station, the pumps are “old school.” Back to fishing. For a novice angler – or for a kid’s first fish – try putting a small piece of a worm on a small hook (No. 12 or smaller) and dangle it in shallow water between rocks for sunfish. Don’t forget about catching crayfish, too. The best bet for anglers with boats or kayaks (the Woods Canyon Lake Store has boat and canoe/kayak rentals and necessary camping amenities) is to hit the water just before sunrise and troll, or slowly work, small in-line spinners 15 feet deep. Any deeper, and you’re typically fishing below the thermocline where during the summer there is no oxygen. Anglers could have no problems getting a six trout daily bag limit or hooking into a rod-rattling tiger trout. Directions: From Phoenix, take Highway 87 (Beeline Highway) northeast to Payson and then Highway 260 east to Forest Road 300 (Rim Road). Then turn north onto paved Forest Road 105 and proceed about a mile to the lake. The lake is about 30 miles east of Payson. See Google driving directions.

according to forest officials. “A helicopter and airtankers were used on Sunday and remain available if needed, to slow the fire’s spread west and south toward Ft. McDowell and the community of Rio Verde. The remote, inaccessible location and excessive heat are challenging firefighting efforts,” stated a Facebook post from the forest service. Templin says no evacuations

have been ordered at this time, but visitors in the Lower Sycamore , Sugarloaf and along Forest Road 160 were asked to relocate over the weekend. Also, Forest Service roads along State Highway 87 are closed currently. “As a precaution, Forest Service Roads along State Highway 87 were closed to prevent the public from driving into several popular areas including: Lower Sycamore, Sugarloaf and Mesquite which are south and east of the Verde Fire,” forest officials stated.

ALL ABOUT ARIZONA NEWS

According to the Arizona Office of Tourism Director, Debbie Johnson, tourism in Arizona took an upturn in 2018 “For the third consecutive year, all of our tourism industry major performance indicators are at record highs,” said Director Johnson. “And that includes visitor volume, visitor spending, employment and tax revenue.” Based on a report released by the Governor’s Conference of Tourism in Tucson, in 2018, for the first time, over $1B in state tourism taxes has been generated. Johnson purported, “That’s almost 10% of our state’s total budget, and so it helps pay for education and public safety and health services – all those things we as residents depend on but most of our visitors don’t.” 2018 welcomed 45.4 million from overnight visitors, breaking the 2017 record of 43.9 million visitors. Arizona Travelers in 2018

spent a record high of $24.4 billion, which means $67 million every day was generated in Arizona tourism spending. That was an increase of 7.8% over the 2017 record high. “It’s almost incomprehensible how much money people are spending in Arizona,” Johnson added. This report demonstrates how significant the tourism industry is to the Arizona economy as well as diversity our state has to offer the tourism industry. How does this translate to Arizona jobs? According to the tourism office research, this revenue has supported over 190,000 employment opportunities, which translates to paying $7.4 billion in wages. While a big factor that drives Arizona tourism is the Grand Canyon, is by far not the only tourist attraction in Arizona.

Other Arizona attractions are gaining ground. Johnson continued, “Tourism is one of the only industries that impacts positively all 15 counties around the state,” Johnson said. From the tourism office records, last year, about 6 million visitors came from other countries. Over 50% of whom were from Mexico. Tourists from Germany led in European tourism data, while Australian tourists increased by 15% over 2017’s record. Johnson noted that international tourists tend to stay in Arizona for longer, spending money and exploring more of what the state offers than US travelers. Johnson said, “We’re going to continue to market to our international visitors so they know more about what Arizona has.”

Arts

The creative thread through life

Pictured: Artworks by Justine Mantor-Waldie, who is based out of Fountain Hills, Ariz. For more information visit JustJustine.com BY SHEA STANFIELD ARTS COLUMNIST

One of America’s most renowned female artists, Georgia O’Keeffe wrote, “Painting is like a thread that runs through all the reasons for all the other things that make one’s life.” A statement that certainly runs true in the life of local printmaker, painter and multimedia artist, Justine Mantor-Waldie. Her artistic thread is anchored in her hometown of Neenah, Wisc., an environment surrounded by great stands of trees and horizon seeking cornfields. As a child Justine became a student of nature appreciating lessons in the small details of everyday life and the grand gestures of vast brilliantly glowing sunsets. Justine knew early on that she was destined for an expanding career in the arts. Her first memories connecting with nature was riding bikes loaded with watercolors, brushes and paper with her girlfriend Pat to “plein air” paint on the shores of Lake Winnebago. By age 15 Justine was on the

front edge of her artistic journey winning a statewide student art contest with her “Sunset” mosaic made from cut up floor tiles. Her winning entry was on display with other student work at the University of Wisconsin Museum, and memorialized in an accompanying calendar of student work. This success won Justine a summer scholarship to an art school on the “thumb” of Wisconsin that was designed by Jens Jensen called “The Clearing.” There she participated in daily watercolor lessons and attending critiques conducted by the University of Wisconsin professors. The camp would culminate with an exhibit in “The Clearing’s” art gallery. One of the Justine’s works from this show became her first sale. The thread leading to her higher education in an art began with a visit to the Museum of the Art Institute of Chicago (AIC) while she was a junior in high school. Before graduation she began to build the required portfolio of work required to apply to AIC, with the help of her art teacher

and her father Jack. Justine would be one of two students admitted from Wisconsin. Justine commenced her program with AIC pursuing a degree in drawing and painting, but this changed after a summer scholarship during her junior year that took her to Ox Bow Summer School of Art in Saugatuck, Mich. During the 10-week session Justine was introduced to soft ground etching by artist Nick DeMatties. The print process of layering natural found objects in ground and immediacy was a technique Justine was unable to achieve with paint, resulting in her adding printmaking to her major field of study. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Fine Arts with AIC and do her graduate studies at Northern Illinois University. There she studied with David Driesbach who had returned from Paris after studying Viscosity Painting with Stanley William Hayter. Justine quickly mastered the difficult technique and won numerous national awards and exhibited

in competitions throughout the country. Upon completing her master’s degree, Justine was hired to teach drawing, design, printmaking and color theory at Loyola University in Chicago. She enjoyed a 22-year career, becoming an Associate Professor at the University. Additionally, Justine was juried in to become a member of ARCC Women’s Co-op Gallery where she exhibited for four years. Justine’s artwork has been represented at the Illinois State Museum, Rockford Art Museum, Byer Museum, Evanston, Ill., Northern Illinois University Student Center Permanent Collection and corporate collections across the country. Justine and her husband visited Arizona on a summer trip well into her career and fell in love with Fountain Hills. It wasn’t long before she decided to take early retirement. The couple sold their home in Chicago, moving to Fountain Hills where she designed and built their “next phase” home. Since then, Justine has been

an Artist in Residence at the Phoenix Center for the last four years, where she created new classes, exhibits and workshops. She also introduced the first ink and etching on black clay board, a technique she still uses today. Justine taught at Mesa Community College for 13 years, as well. She continues to travel extensively throughout the Southwest visiting ancient archaeological sites, which along with landscapes, are sources for inspiration of her own art. She is a member of the Fountain Hills Arts League participating in the Tour d’Artistes each March, and the Sonoran Arts League where she participates in the Hidden in the Hills Studio Tour each November. Her work may also be seen at the Sedona Arts Center. Visit JustJustine.com to view featured work, current events, exhibits and workshop schedule, or to contact Justine MantorWaldie. There is much more to the story for your discovery. You can contact Arts Columnist Shea Stanfield on her email at: flowingquill@yahoo.com.

Congresswoman Lesko announces Congressional App Challenge for students WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Debbie Lesko announced the launch of the Congressional App Challenge for middle and high school students in Arizona’s Eighth District. The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide event that allows students from across the country to compete by creating and exhibiting a software application or app, for tablet, mobile or computer devices on a platform of their choice. It is open to all middle school and high school students living in the Eighth Congressional District of Arizona, regardless of coding experience. Students may participate individually or in teams of up to four. Congresswoman Lesko released the following statement encouraging students to participate in the Congressional App Challenge: “The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields play a critical role in the 21st century. That is why I am pleased to announce

Honorable mentions Rose Canyon Lake (Tucson region), Show Low Lake and Creek, Kaibab Lake (Williams), Black River, Knoll Lake, Dogtown Reservoir. Remember to check any special

that my Congressional Office will be participating in this year’s Congressional App Challenge. I look forward to seeing creative apps from students from across the Eighth District. All apps from the eighth district will be evaluated and a winner will be chosen by a panel of local judges who work within the academic, software and entrepreneurial fields. The winning app from each congressional district that hosted a challenge will be featured on the U.S. House of Representatives’ website (www.house.gov) and displayed in a U.S. Capitol exhibit. Students must register online by September 15, 2019. All apps must be submitted by November 1, 2019. Interested students, educators, parents, or guardians may contact Congresswoman Lesko’s office at 623-776-7911 with any questions. More information, including the official rules and entry guidelines, may be found at www.congressionalappchallenge.us. regulations that might be in place. So grab a license online (that helps conserve all species of wildlife, not to mention provides funding that goes back into fishing opportunities) and go. You won’t regret the memories.
