TOTALLY BOATING WELCOMES KENDALL RILEY “Another hard day at the office,” says Kendall Riley Totally Boating’s new salesperson. Kendall’s speaking from the cockpit of the new Osprey 1800 Hardtop at 30mph with the sun glistening on the glassy water of Tasman Bay behind him. The hum of the Mercury Optimax motor is like music to his ears. “One of the most difficult parts of the job is testing out new products!” Kendall’s joking of course – there’s nothing that beats being out on the water! Kendall grew up on a dairy farm in Collingwood and was educated at Collingwood area school until his parents sold up and made the big move to Motueka. He went to Motueka High and with his love of the outdoors and team sports worked part time in the local sports store where he soon got offered a full time position.
Greymouth and Westport or exploring the West Haven Inlet to dive the amazing Kahurangi Shoals. His favourite playground for diving being the Abel Tasman National park as it’s safe and very easy to get to either by foot or his preferred means of transport, BOAT. Family plays a big part of Kendall’s life with kids Piper and Maxim and wife Melanie all enjoying a day’s fishing with friends on their boat or just down at the local wharf. With some 21 years in the outdoors retail industry and an even longer history of being on and around boats Kendall comes well equipped to help you with all your boating and marine needs. While there is still a lot to learn about the boating industry and new technology that is constantly being developed, he’ll do his best to find the answers you need. There’s a great team of knowledgeable people at Totally Boating getting him up to speed and Kendall says they are a great group of people to work with.
