THREE LITTLE WORDS One of the prayers that I like to pray when leading our Compline Online at Nine is a prayer that comes from A New Zealand Book of Common Prayer. Over the years of praying this prayer, the lines that continue to speak to me to the most are in the third stanza: “It is night after a long day. What has been done has been done; what has not been done has not be done; let it be.” As someone who strives to be competent in all things, to feel competent, and to appear competent, there is great potential for freedom in those three little words: let it be. I have needed those three words throughout my life, but especially during the last three weeks as life and routines and habits have become so different, and things seem so messy and inefficient. I no longer need these words just once a day at the end of the day, but I need them throughout the day. “In this last hour, Lord; what has been done has been done; what has not been done has not be done; let it be.” So it is with things like Grace Notes, which we have temporarily renamed Grace Quarter Notes, because at present we can’t offer a picture of a month in advance, but only about a week or so. So you will notice that this edition of Grace Quarter Notes is a little lighter than usual. In the weeks ahead, as we navigate life and faith together, we will seek to keep you informed as best as we are able to through this and other means. Blessings, Fr. Ted +

Lord, it is night. The night is for stillness. Let us be still in the presence of God. It is night after a long day. What has been done has been done; what has not been done has not been done; let it be. The night is dark. Let our fears of the darkness of the world and of our own lives rest in you. The night is quiet. Let the quietness of your peace enfold us, all dear to us, and all who have no peace. The night heralds the dawn. Let us look expectantly to a new day, new joys, new possibilities. In your name we pray. Amen.

SERVING CHRIST BY MINISTERING TO THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY & THE PARISH

GOD’S MISSION AND OUR GIVING God has given us everything we need to par cipate in the work of gospel. This was true in the past, and it is s ll true today. While the doors of our building may be closed, the work and the witness of the church goes on. We are a community, even while dispersed in crisis, and we are called to be the light of Christ in the world through both prayer and ac on. We are grateful to have the resources of people, me, and money that allow us to offer online worship as well as to reach out, to stay connected, and to offer support to one another. Your giving makes this possible, so thank you, thank you, thank you! As we know, it is s ll going to be a while before we are able to worship together in the same physical space. That means that we are not able to collect our offerings and gi s by sending a collec on plate down the aisle. So, un l we are back together in this place, we ask that you would give through one of the following methods: 1. U.S. Mail. You may mail a check to the church: 2 Hyde Park Drive; Hutchinson, KS 67502 2. Drop off at the church. You may drop a check off at the church by placing it in an envelope and pu ng it through the mail slot in the door outside the offices. We are se ng up ways to give online and through direct bank transfer. We will let you know when those become available.

We are keeping the church doors locked during office hours, but people needing food can ring the doorbell, and we will bring them a bag of groceries. ROSE WINDOW RENOVATION HAS BEGUN Hoefer’s Custom Stain Glass workers were at the church on Wednesday, March 4th removing the rose window glass. It will be taken back to their shop in South Hutch to be cleaned, releaded and then brought back and reinstalled. We look forward to our beau ful windows returning to us good as new. They are also cleaning and fixing the altar windows in the Chapel. • Fr. Ted bravely climbed the scaffolding to take a picture through the open spaces in the window. (Photos by Brenda Hoefer and Fr.
