From the Chief's Desk

I like to brag on my Officers and Department every time I get a chance. We have a great supporting community in Elgin, and we want to make sure that we are always prepared and trained to the best of our abilities to better serve.

This being said, I want to let everyone know about a scholarship we have received that pays for important training for our Victim’s Advocates. Sgt. Michelle Sinclair and Victim’s Advocate Angie Garrett. Both Michelle and Angie are Victim’s Advocates for Elgin PD, and both work hard providing services for all victims of crime.

This particular scholarship, “Crimes Against Woman” gives the necessary skills in identifying, investigation and prosecuting violent crimes against woman.

We are excited that we are being given this opportunity to send our Advocates to this training. Thank you. (Read more on page 10).
