ET Correspondent Teok, Dec 12: In a critical incident, three persons including one child and one girl were seriously injured in the wake of a sudden attack of a mature leopard at Pacca Line of Boloma Tea Estate under Teok police station today evening. On the other hand, the leopard also ended up dead. According to sources, the leopard attacked the three persons suddenly when they were nearby their house. Due to the sudden attack all three persons were injured seriously and all of them were admitted at Jorhat Medical College Hospital for treatment. The injured persons were Bisal Kalandi (32), Chakhila Kalandi

and a six year old child Smt Sunena Tanti. After the incident the angry people of the Tea garden surrounded the area and killed the leopard using local made instruments like axe, big dagger etc. The angry crowd also captured the nails, teeth and tail of the dead leopard. It is noteworthy that on several occasions lately leopards have harassed the local people of the greater area since the last few months while the concerned forest officials have not taken any positive steps against the control of the wild animal.
