Micheldever Parish’s villages are all involved in celebrating the Platinum Jubilee from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June 2022. Events will take place in Woodmancott, East Stratton, Micheldever Station and Micheldever village across the days. Full details of all events and locations will be listed at www. micheldevervillages.org, shared on noticeboards across the parish and appear in the Dever’s April, May and June editions. Micheldever Village’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations take place on Sunday 5th June Our main event will be a street party along Church Street. The street party sets up from 12.00 for a 12.30 start and runs through the afternoon. The street party will include a ‘Kings and Queens Parade’–a fancy dress parade for local children, from 12.30-12.45, including a prize-giving ceremony for the top three fancy-dressed entrants. The street party lunch begins at 1pm. Parade entrants need to dress up following the theme of ‘Kings and Queens’. The children will parade together along Church Street, passing the street party as they go, who will all cheer them along. There is a competition for the best fancy dress. The judging will occur during the parade, and the presentation to the winners will take place immediately after the parade has completed. Caroline Knight has now moved away from Micheldever, She used to produce some monthly handy hints for gardeners. We would very much like someone, or indeed several people, to follow her example. Gardening is such an important part of village life for many and hints and tips are always welcome.
