The story of the Cattleman’s Club Steakhouse begins on a ranch in the Big Bend area about 25 miles downriver from Pierre. Myril Arch, founder of the Cattleman’s Club Steakhouse, discovered he had been born to cook while feeding hay crews that worked the ranch. All the workers loved his steaks. He opened the doors of the original Cattleman’s Club in February 1986 just outside of Pierre. Myril attributed the success to his commitment as a lifelong resident in the area, his numerous friends and of course the juicy, perfectly seasoned, mouthwatering steaks. In 2014 Cindy and long-time family friend Justin Laird opened a second location in Mitchell, SD. Both locations use the same family recipes and cooking standards that Myril put into place decades ago. They only serve choice Black Angus beef that’s aged in house and hand cut daily.
