LUXURY LIVING

MASTER-PLAN MAKEOVER

Hope Island Resort, incorporating Links Hope Island golf course, is undergoing a multi-million dollar transformation.

HOPE ISLAND RESORT is in the midst of a stunning $100 million makeover that will elevate its status as one of Australia’s leading golf and resort communities. The famed resort is poised for a new era in a glorious overhaul that intends to position the property as the premium lifestyle and leisure destination of the Gold Coast’s thriving north shore. At the core of this stunning development is renowned golf course, Links Hope Island. Already renowned for its high-end facilities, the epic transformation undertaken by GH Australia will welcome a golf club upgrade, dedicated new golf hole, state-of-the-art golf academy, and a lifestyle precinct with a luxury day spa and restaurant. “We’ve got plenty in store for Links Hope Island, and we can’t wait to begin crafting a sustainable future for the Links golf and wellbeing businesses, while creating a vibrant, lifestyle focused, residential-resort precinct,” said Ellen Guan, Director of GH. “This transformation is already underway with a new land release known as The Gallery which has now sold out, a new ninth hole and driving range and major changes to the resort

community hub to include a broader range of ser vices that benefit the broader Hope Island community.” The celebrated golf course will receive a newly designed 9th hole with previous input by the late Mike Wolveridge who, along with Australian pro golfer five-time Major Champion Peter Thomson, contributed to the original design of the championship Links course. The redesigned hole has now been freshly laid and will welcome its first golfers in coming weeks. GH is to invest significantly in the development of wellness facilities, including a dedicated wellness centre and fitness centre, in addition to a large resort-style swimming pool, jacuzzi and relaxation lounge. The debut launch of The Gallery, a 46-lot land estate located within the resort, was met with rigour by buyers, reaching a complete sell out of the $33 million collection. Prospective Hope Island buyers can rest assured that more residential opportunities are on the horizon for Links, with plans laid for a boutique hotel, luxury apartments and highend villas as part of proposed amendments to its masterplan.

“Although much of the master plan is permitted, we are seeking an amendment to the planning scheme to allow an additional 110 luxury apartments and an 8-storey building,” said Ellen. “At the same time, we are proposing a boutique hotel of just 44 rooms – reducing a hotel permit which allowed for up to 400 hotel rooms, suites and serviced apartments. “Increasing the height of one residential building will allow for a smaller footprint, less building bulk and more open space for lush subtropical landscaping which is in keeping with Hope Island’s community integrity and vision.” It is envisaged that a branded operator will manage the revitalised Links Golf & Wellbeing complex and provide a range of services to occupiers of the luxury residential apartments. Following the knockout delivery of The Gallery, GH will now set its sights on the final stage of the masterplan which will comprise world-class wellness and leisure destinations, a philosophy the developer encompasses in all projects. The plan has been refined over the past few years in consultation with community representatives and stakeholders.
