HAOTIC scenes in Lahinch on Sunday have prompted Clare County Council to commit to additional life-guard resources across the county, however full-time cover will not be in place until the end of June. Thousands of visitors flocked to Lahinch in the sunshine on Sunday with the absence of any lifeguards plus the surf conditions heightening the danger for swimmers. A “CONSIDERED and robust plan” has been presented to the Taoiseach which suggests a pilot reopening of the Queens Nightclub in Ennis. Ennis Chamber together with management of the Queens and directors of the Ennis based antigen testing company Westland Health have created a proposal that aims to support a safe pilot night club reopening for a maximum of 250 people. Clare TD, Joe Carey (FG) has made representations to Taoiseach Micheál Martin (FF) on the proposal. “A number of pilot re-opening cultural and sporting events are planned, why not have one in Ennis, which is the largest town in Munster,” he stated.
