La realidad de la educación The reality of education

La educación forma parte fundamental de la vida de cualquier individuo, siendo el elemento que, además de ser un derecho fundamental, se convierte en el mecanismo de defensa, transformación y movilidad social más significativo que existe. Sin embargo, no ha tenido cambios a gran escala en el transcurso del último siglo.

Education is a fundamental part of the life of any individual, being the element that, in addition to being a fundamental right, becomes the most significant defense, transformation and social mobility mechanism that exists. However, it has not undergone large-scale changes in the course of the last century.

Vivimos en un mundo donde las oportunidades de adquirir educación, con el sistema actual más común, son límitadas. De acuerdo a las cifras del Instituto de Estadística de la UNESCO (IEU) más de 200 millones de niños entre 6 y 17 años carecen de escolaridad, afectando de manera directa su formación desde la infancia, dejándolos sin las capacidades y destrezas fundamentales para desarrollar un pensamiento y juicio crítico que les permitan enfrentar equitativamente los retos del futuro.

According to figures from the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), more than 200 million children between 6 and 17 years of age lack schooling, directly affecting their education from childhood, leaving them without the fundamental capacities and skills to develop a critical thinking and judgment that allow them to face the challenges of the future equitably.

Por otro lado, existen millones de personas con la oportunidad de tener acceso a los diversos niveles educativos y aún así carecen del desarrollo de juicio crítico y de diversas destrezas acorde a su persona para defenderse ante el mundo dando a lugar a la gran incógnita que se ha expresado en los últimos años: ¿por qué sucede esto si están teniendo la oportunidad de estudiar? La respuesta se basa en el sistema educativo tradicional.

Dicho sistema se basa en un transmisor de conocimiento único, que es el profesorado, hacia los múltiples receptores de un mismo grado conformado por el alumnado, generando como su principio fundamental la recepción de la información y la memorización de la misma para comprobar su conocimiento personal mediante una evaluación. Esta metodología tuvo su auge en la época de la Revolución Industrial debido a la estandarización del conocimiento y a su fácil aplicación pues se destacó que con un solo profesor era posible transmitir conocimiento a una gran cantidad de alumnos.

Se ha mantenido hasta nuestros días como un modelo constituido a nivel mundial. En México se ha implementado en la mayoría de los centros educativos.

Pero, ¿cuál ha sido el principal problema de éste método educativo? La evidente respuesta: Estandarizar. Es increíble como se ha visto una evolución significativa del mundo en el último siglo y el sistema educativo no se ha modificado en lo absoluto quedando en estado obsoleto.

Al ser un sistema rígido en el que solo puede haber una fuente de transmisión de información absoluta se desvanece la curiosidad y creatividad de los alumnos. La memorización antes de la comprensión y práctica da a lugar al olvido en un periodo de tiempo más corto sin siquiera ser parte benefactora para el desarrollo de sus habilidades. Con este sistema de aprendizaje los métodos de evaluación, además de generar competitividad entre compañeros, llegan a provocar altos niveles de estrés y frustración seguidos de problemas emocionales y de autoestima. Un ejemplo de lo anterior se ve reflejado en países como China, Corea del Sur y Japón que a pesar de ser considerados como algunos los países con mejor sistema educativo del mundo, tienen un método tan exigente y competitivo que se han convertido en países con mayor índice de suicidio estudiantil.

La falla en sus espacios The fault in its spaces

Este método a dado lugar a una estandarización en los salones de clases. Se basan en un espacio cerrado a cuatro paredes con un espacio al frente y un pizarrón destinado al transmisor de conocimiento además de una gran número de bancas ordenadas detrás de él para el alumnado.

Debido a esto, las actividades de aprendizaje se quedan planas como su sistema, esto ha logrado hacer evidente el gran fracaso en la atención de los alumnos. Está comprobado que una persona luego de 10 minutos de escuchar a alguien sin interés, tiende a distraerse y no aprende eficientemente.

Desarrollarse en un ambiente que promueve la individualidad, la rigidez y la permanencia inmóvil en un sitio hacia un mismo punto ha provocado paulatinamente que los alumnos se hayan convertido en sujetos pasivos desinteresados que se limitan a dar únicamente lo que se les pide por compromiso para reflejar una calificación más que por convicción para su desarrollo y beneficio personal.

Developing in an environment that promotes individuality, rigidity and staying immobile in one place towards the same point has gradually caused students to become disinterested passive subjects who limit themselves to giving only what is asked of them out of commitment to reflect a rating more than conviction for your personal development and benefit.

El gran error que se sigue cometiendo es el pretender que un gran número de personas, e atienden, entienden y retienen de igual manera.

Las necesidades humanas que se encuentran presentes en un salón de clases son infinitas y un método genérico como este responde solo a unas cuantas. Sin embargo, la falla en sus espacios no solo involucra los salones de clases, sino a todo el conjunto educacional.

The big mistake that continues to be made is to pretend that a large number of people, and attend, understand and retain in the same way. Debido a la demanda, las escuelas se han preocupado más por tener edificios donde alojar alumnos, explanada de concreto donde transitar pero sin lugares naturales que beneficien el desarrollo y bienestar del ser humano siendo separado tajantemente con bardas perimetrales.

La escuela tradicional prepara a sus alumnos para el mundo de una manera encerrada y aislada del mismo. ¿Es posible expandir los núcleos del conocimiento y la interacción social cuando el futuro de las comunidades permanece aislado? Su respuesta es complicada. La presencia de estos muros enormes impiden que haya una buena interacción interior-exterior y pareciera que la escuela tuviera miedo a la sociedad, creyendo que lo que sucede dentro es la única verdad y fuera de ella el espacio está lleno de mentiras y peligros generando que la mayoría de las escuelas en México permanescan sitiadas.

Por otro lado, se es consciente que en muchas ocasiones, por cuestiones de seguridad, dichas bardas son necesarias para conservar la integridad de la comunidad estudiantil pero no se visualizan más allá que constructivamente, convirtiéndose en elementos barrera en lugar de herramientas para expresar y difundir aprendizaje, convirtiéndose también en conjunto en el mayor problema para el progreso educativo.

The traditional school prepares its students for the world in a closed and isolated way. The presence of these huge walls prevent a good interior-exterior interaction and it seems that the school is afraid of society, believing that what happens inside is the only truth and outside of it the space is full of lies and dangers generating that most schools in Mexico remain under siege.

On the other hand, it is aware that on many occasions, for security reasons, these fences are necessary to preserve the integrity of the student community, but they are only viewed constructively, becoming barrier elements instead of tools to express and disseminate learning, also becoming the biggest problem for educational progress as a whole.

Impacto en zonas marginadas Thasdasd

El problema como sistema ya está presente, pero, ¿qué pasa en aquellos lugares marginados donde adquirir conocimiento de la manera tradicional es un reto? La situación empeora.

En México, la desiguladad educativa es muy evidente. Se ve reflejada en la falta de planteles, docentes preparados, infraestructuras inadecuadas y la falta de material de aprendizaje a nivel público. El problema de dicha falta de recursos accesibles tiene como resultado el desinterés y abandono de los estudios académicos a temprana edad para también buscar adquieir recursos trabajando.

Factores como la ubicación geográfica, discapacidas, pérdida del cuidado paternal, situación socio económica entre otras, disminuyen considerablemente la probabilidad de que personas en estas condiciones puedan asistir a un centro educativo que les brinde formación de calidad, marcando la diferencia entre su exclusión o integración activa en una sociedad, impactando paralelamente temas de pobreza y desarrollo humano sostenible.

In Mexico, educational inequality is very evident. It is reflected in the lack of schools, trained teachers, inadequate infrastructure and the lack of learning material at the public level. The problem of said lack of accessible resources has as a result the lack of interest and abandonment of academic studies at an early age to also seek to acquire resources by working.

Factors such as geographical location, disabled people, loss of parental care, socio-economic situation, among others, considerably reduce the probability that people in these conditions can attend an educational center that provides them with quality training, marking the difference between their exclusion or integration active in a society, simultaneously impacting issues of poverty and sustainable human development.

With this, we synthesize that the problems faced by the educational system derive from the economic, cultural and social difficulties that the country is experiencing.

De acuerdo a cifras recolectadas por la ONU, fueron más de 1.500 millones de estudiantes los que se vieron afectados con dicha pandemia y que podrían verse afectados gravemente en su desarrollo estudiantil, además de hacer aún más evidente las desigualdades educativas.

Se implementó el sistema de Aprende en Casa que se basó en transmitir contenido curricular por medios televisivos y la utilización de internet para que los docentes pudieran mantener contacto con los alumnos, dar instrucciones y recibir asignaciones. Para que esto fuera existoso, la población debía contar con apoyo familiar, internet, un medio por el cual conectarse al mismo y un televisor, productos y servicios con los que no cuentan debido a su situación.

The Learn at Home system was implemented, which was based on transmitting curricular content through television and the use of the Internet so that teachers could maintain contact with students, give instructions and receive assignments. For this to be successful, the population had to have family support, the internet, a means by which to connect to it and a television, products and services that they do not have due to their situation.

Los grupos menos favorecidos no tuvieron oportunidad de adaptarse a ese sistema y con ello incrementó la tasa de deserción escolar.

El confiamiento y la falta de recursos accesibles para continuar aprendiendo ha debilitado de manera progresiva a la comunidad educativa, principalmente a los grupos vulnerables. A pesar de que se hayan establecido objetivos que busquen garantizar la educación inclusiva, equitativa y de calidad, el sistema que se continua implementando no favorece a la estrategia.

Por otro lado, la situación ha provocado un gran impacto en la sociedad en aspectos psicológicos y socioemocionales que se han vuelto alarmantes.

Una parte considerable de la población mexicana vive en situación de pobreza o marginación y el encierro ha representado una pesadilla.

Se está hablando de un contexto donde un grupo de personas debe permanecer en condiciones de hacinamiento por un largo periodo de tiempo, asimilando que no cuentan con un espacio público adecuado en donde puedan tomar un respiro sin riesgo, dando a lugar problemas emocionales, conflictos familiares, rezago individual e imposibilidad de un buen desarrollo cognitivo dejando graves consecuencias mentales que han llevado a la población a realizar actos fatídicos como el suicidio.

Como sociedad nos encontramos en un problema de dimensión mundial y la emergencia sanitaria causada por la COVID-19 hizo retomar los problemas que se venían arrastrando. Se han evidenciado rotundamente las fallas en los espacios urbanos en los que se desarrolla el país y el verdadero colapso de su sistema educativo.

As a society we find ourselves in a global problem and the health emergency caused

by COVID-19 made the problems that had been dragging back. The flaws in the urban spaces in which the country develops and the true collapse of its educational system have been clearly evidenced.

Comunidades de aprendizaje Learning communities

Learning communities are born from the need to form an information society focused on the academic environment. They seek an equal response to access to education through the participation of society to achieve their objectives, bet on the capacity of the participants and seek to improve the quality of teaching for each one of them in particular. Its main objectives are to improve academic performance and solve coexistence problems.

La primera comunidad de aprendizaje tiene lugar en 1978 en Barcelona llamada “La VernedaSant Martí” como un centro de aprendizaje para personas adultas. Después el Centro de Investigación de Teorías y Prácticas Superadoras de Desigualdades (CREA) de la Universidad de Barcelona hizo una investigación que duró aproximadamente 5 años con el objetivo de buscar dinámicas que fomentaran el éxito educativo en todos sus modelos básicos (preescolar, primaria y secundaria).

Las comunidades de aprendizaje nacen de la necesidad de formar una sociedad de la información enfocada en el entorno académico.

Buscan una respuesta igualitaria al acceso de la educación mediante la participación de la sociedad para alcanzar sus objetivos, apuesta por la capacidad de los participantes y busca mejorar la calidad de enseñanza para cada uno de ellos en particular. Sus principales objetivos son mejorar el rendimiento académico y resolver problemas de convivencia.

Se identificaron diversas estrategias de cohesión social y reducción de desigualdades para ser utilizadas como base dentro de los agentes de cambio y así contribuir a la formación de las nuevas políticas educativas. Se comprobó que no son eficaces aquellos centros educativos en los que las familias y la institución van por caminos diferentes y por eso las actuaciones de comunidad de aprendizaje con su modelo organizativo se convierte en una dinámica exitosa en cualquier contexto a nivel mundial.

Various strategies of social cohesion and reduction of inequalities were identified to be used as a basis within the agents of change and thus contribute to the formation of new educational policies. It was found that those educational centers in which families and the institution go on different paths are not effective and that is why the actions of the learning community with its organizational model become a successful dynamic in any context worldwide.

El impacto de las comunidades de aprendizaje no solo pretende quedarse en el contexto educativo, sino convertirse en agente transformador del entorno incorporando ámbitos familiares y contextuales que repercutan en la comunidad y así cerrar el círculo que forma la rutina diaria del alumnado tratando de disminuir barreras y convertir dificultades en posibilidades.

The impact of learning communities not only aims to stay in the educational context, but to become a transforming agent of the environment, incorporating family and contextual environments that have an impact on the community and thus close the circle that forms the daily routine of students trying to reduce barriers and turn difficulties into possibilities.

En cuanto a las características físicas ue ofrece el lugr, reuslta ser un barrio complejo, debido a su topagrafía extrema, ya que se ubica en una de las zonas más altas de la ciudad y que posee drásticas pendientes dispersas, esta característica genera que se creen algunas zonas de escurrimiento y encharcamientos importantes en la temporada de lluvia, que terminan siendo absorbidos por la tierra o termina siendo agua contaminada con basura de la calle y otras sustancias.

Gran parte del barrio se encuentra incompleto, abandonado, es decir, hubo trabajos que se iniciaron y por algún motivo quedaron en el olvido, dejando a la comunidad en condiciones menos agradables y que generan espacios de inseguridad y poco atractivos para una convivencia comunitaria.

En el estudio del barrio, se detectaron diversas zonas gracias a sus características económicas y de actividades, en las que se pudieron destacar 3 principales.

Buscando los principales puntos donde hubiera mayor necesidad para enfocar la atención y poder desarrollar una opción viable y de ayuda para comunidad en general.

Por lo mismo, se encontró una falta evidente de espacios educativos y de recreación en un radio de 1.5 km a partir del centro del barrio, esta falta se evidenció más en la zona marginada.

También se detectó la gran extención de un corredor inacabado que eventualmente conecta con uno de los parques más importantes de Querétaro.

Esta cualidad permitió enfocarse más en una intervención educativa y urbana que sería ubicada en un par de predios abandonadas en la zona marguinadad frente al corredor.

PEL the city, un término acuñado por las autoras, que por sus siglas en inglés significa, Jugar, Disfrutar y Aprender la ciudad, integra la estrategia y el diseño para una ciudadescuela, un espacio para aprender de cualquier cosa al tiempo en el que se convive con la ciudad, viendo a ambos como aliados para el crecimiento y desarrollo de la comunidad que lo adopte.

PEL the city es el proyecto que busca aliar a la ciudad, con las personas y con la naturaleza, ya que gracias a las diferencias sociales y la vida post covid, se han visto más aisladas que nunca.

Es hora de que la comunidad crezca junto con el cuidado de espacios saludables y de aprendizaje continuo, mientras disfrutan de lugares auténticos y con futuro.

La educación es la base del desarrollo de los niños, y con esto, se pretende proporcionar un espacio de aprendizaje, alejado a lo que la escuela tradicional fomenta, junto con espacios urbanos que permitan esta evolución a la utopía ciudad-escuela.

1. Atracción del público cercano y más alejado a la comunidad mediante el mejoramiento de la parada de autobús que brindará la bienvenida al corredor y dará pie a conocer la Comunidad de Aprendizaje.

2. Disminución de espacio y de velocidad en las vías que enmarcan al corredor para la seguridad de los usuarios peatones (calle 30) y para mayor atracción de distintos medios de transporte.

3. Urbanismo táctico que unifique los distintos espacios a recorrer y atraer de manera didáctica al peatón para una experiencia completa.

En el punto centra del corredor se acumula la mayor cantidad de vivienda, por lo que la implmentación de los siguientes puntos era fundamental para atraer a estos residentes.

One of the key points of the corridor is to attract people enough to reach the most iconic point of the project. The corridor is a key element to bring more population closer to the Learning Community and it is at this point where more different activities take place, offering alternatives for the tastes and needs of each user.

Otra parte del rompecabezas implica la estrategia sustentable, donde la preocupación ambiental y en relación la vivencia del espacio son fundamentales para el mantenimiento y uso el corredor.

Humedales que recolectan agua en tiempos de lluvia, donde se filtra el agua recolectad amientras se brinda un elemento más a la experiencia en el espacio público y se brinda conocimiento sobre el uso del agua y sus cuidado Esta agua recorre todo el corredor y se almacena en dos puntos del mismo para posterior mente ser utilizados para el riego de las distintas plantas endémicas que se encuentran, por lo cual el consumo de esta agua será intermitente.

Wetlands that collect water in times of rain, where the collected water is filtered while providing another element to the experience in public space and providing knowledge about the use of water and its care. This water runs through the entire corridor and is stored in two points of the corridor to later be used for the irrigation of the different endemic plants that are found, for which the consumption of this water will be intermittent.

Los humedales se ubican en el interior de los predios permitiendo captación de agua pluvial directa gracias a las techumbres inclinadas del predio y a las eleveciones que contienen los humedales para captura.

Las aulas rompen con el esquema tradicional de la educación, la crítica dirigida hacia la falta de libertad y la monotonía de las actividades limitan el desarrollo del aprendizaje.

Las aulas en PEL se comunican completamente con la naturaleza y con otros espacios que funcionan para actividades distintas, de tal manera que el aprendizaje para cada usuario se de de manera distinta y enriquecedora.
