Prep Your Ingredients

Garland Pillars

Ensure all your Castello cheese is well chilled for easier slicing and cut into required shapes for bricks, shingles, windows and bushes. Place your Tre Stelle Original Cream Cheese into a bag for piping.

The Structure

Pipe a thick line of Tre Stelle Cream Cheese on all four corners of the house and attach a bread stick to each. Pipe thin lines on the breadsticks and add thyme leaves.

Almond Window and Garland Decorations Pipe a circle of cream cheese around the window and place almonds evenly. Pipe more cream cheese to resemble snow and decorate as shown. Finish the house by placing half of the Castello Taste Mexico ring under the windows to serve as bushes.

Slather a good amount of Tre Stelle Cream Cheese evenly onto your structure and smooth it out with a spatula. The cream cheese will hold the ingredients to the house.

The Finishing Touches Decorations

Place the first row of Castello Sliced Gouda shingles evenly on the roof, add the second row so that it slightly overlaps the first row and repeat. Place the halved pepperoni slices on the lower roof one at a time and repeat to the top.

Window and Bricks Prepare your windows by piping four small dots of cream cheese on a whole wheat cracker and attaching four small squares of Castello Herbs & Spices Havarti to each. Place your Castello Havarti bricks starting at the bottom centre, and alternating as you move up to create the traditional brick pattern.

Pipe a path for the front door and top with ground candied pecans, then have fun filling the space on the board with all your favourite charcuterie ingredients!

Gingerbread pancakes

Yield: 10 pancakes Prep time: 5 minutes Cook time: 5 minutes

Start off your holiday mornings with the flavours of the season with delicious Gingerbread pancakes.

Ingredients

Directions

• 1 cup all-purpose flour • 1 tablespoon sugar • 1 teaspoon baking powder • 1 teaspoon ground ginger • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda • 1/2 teaspoon salt • Pinch ground cloves • 1 cup buttermilk • 1 egg • 2 tablespoons molasses • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil • Maple syrup and whipped cream for topping, optional

1. In a bowl, combine the first eight ingredients.

2. Combine buttermilk, egg, molasses and oil; add to dry ingredients and mix well. Pour batter by 1/4 cupful onto a lightly greased hot griddle; turn when bubbles form on top of pancake.

3. Cook until second side is golden brown.

4. Serve with maple syrup and whipped cream.

here is something for everyone at The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair as it brings together a unique mix of livestock, agriculture, culinary adventure, shopping from a variety of vendors, and of course, The Royal Horse Show!

The Royal Horse Show is the culmination of a season of hard work and effort put forth by horse and rider/driver/handler combinations! It together top pairings from all over the world to compete in a variety of classes such as Show Jumping, Indoor Eventing, Show Hunters, Rodeo, Driving, and, specialty line (in hand) and under saddle classes for young horses/ ponies and Thoroughbreds. There is even a class where the Super Dogs pair up with a horse/rider combination in a speed event that spotlights both canine and equine agility! Every year, The Royal Horse Show features a special performer for the ticketed events. This year featured Australian Horseman and Entertainer, Guy McLean. It is clear to see right from the start of his performance that Guy has very unique relationships with his horses as he is able to work them without saddles or

bridles at liberty and even from the back of another horse. Opening weekend of The Royal Horse Show started off with the thrilling Madbarn Indoor Eventing Championship. US Rider Phillip Dutton and his mount, Quasi Cool dominated both rounds to take home the Championship.

The Canadian Show Jumping Championship is another prestigious event that takes place during opening weekend at The Royal. After three intense rounds over two nights that challenged horses and riders to be as brave and quick as they dare while still leaving all the fences up. Toronto based rider Sean Jobin and his mount, Coquelicot VH Heuvelland Z, rode to victory!

The Royal Horse Show continues to feature several International Show Jumping classes during the second week that bring in some of the top-ranked Show Jumpers from around the world.
