Proposition MAYA GOODFELLOW Maya Goodfellow is a writer and researcher. She is a regular columnist for Media Diversified and LabourList and has written frequently for Al Jazeera and The Guardian. Her work mostly focuses on UK politics, gender and race. SALIL TRIPATHI Salil Tripathi is director of policy at the Institute for Human Rights and Business. Based in London, he is a contributing editor at Mint and Caravan in India and has previously held positions at Amnesty International and as a senior visiting fellow for business and human rights at the Kennedy School, Harvard University. He also acts as an adviser to several global initiatives involving business and human rights. STUDENT SPEAKER As part of a new initiative, every one of our debates this term will include a slot for a student speaker - which will be filled by open audition.

Opposition BIM AFOLAMI MP Bim Afolami MP has served as the Conservative MP for Hitchin and Harpenden since the 2017 general election. Having studied Modern History at University College and served as Vice President of the Oxford Union, he proudly describes Winston Churchill as his ‘biggest hero.’ PROF. CHRISTOPHER CATHERWOOD Christopher Catherwood is an author and historian based in Cambridge, after having taught for many years at the University of Richmond. His written works include, ‘His Finest Hour: A Biography of Winston Churchill,’ and, ‘Churchill: The Flawed Genius of World War Two.’ STUDENT SPEAKER As part of a new initiative, every one of our debates this term will include a slot for a student speaker - which will be filled by open audition.
