Lovely ladies. Spring dresses and sunshine made for a perfect day at Suzie Johnson’s home where the Houston Junior Forum celebrated 70 years with a tea. The lunch honored presidents past and present – Janet Juban, Cooky Mays, Margaret Petersen, Jacque Royce, Cindy Cochran, Kay Newman, Paula Howeth, Judy Watson Perkins, Carolyn Kares, Gayle Barnett, Barbara Boek, Jan Arrington and Lucia Dixon Street. The new president is Kim Vidor. Abstract. When Houston artist Joseph Cohen met the future cultural arts manager for the city of Sugar Land, Lindsay Davis, four years ago, a picture-perfect merger was bound to happen. They were wed at sunset April 30 in the garden of the Montebello. Friends held a canopy chuppah covered with tallises that once belonged to Joseph’s grandfather and great grandfather. The couple was entwined in Joseph’s father’s (the late Ron Cohen) tallis as Rabbi Scott Hausman-Weiss chanted the blessings. The parents of the couple, Mirl Cohen and Celeste and Bruce Davis, witnessed the masterpiece creation. The couple will honeymoon in picturesque France. Strangers in the night. Alicia Cribbs and Kyle McIlheran initially met through a mutual friend in 2013, but it did not go as intended. They ran into each other six months later, and they have been running toward each other ever since. She said, “Yes.” They wed April 9 at the Kiehne Creek Farm in Fredericksburg in a field of bluebonnets, wildflowers and a few cows. Kyle surprised Alicia by singing The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. A late-night snack of grilled cheese and Paulie’s cookies was served before the couple departed for Belize, where they swam with sharks and stingrays. The Best is Yet to Come, say the parents of the couple, Judd and Sheila Cribbs and Julie Wareing McIlheran. Hill Country. Maria Butler finally made the move to Hunt, Texas, where she has been visiting since she was a child. She was motivated by her four children, Duncan, Ria, Joanna and
