Meredith is a 2009 graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in health and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She currently works for Greenwood King Properties as a realtor associate at the Kirby office. Chris is a 2010 graduate of Texas A&M, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in construction science. He was on the Texas A&M rugby team. He works at Harvey Builders as a project manager.

Teaming up for TIRR

Celebrating history More than 500 supporters attended the Crime Stoppers of Houston gala, which brought in more than $435,000 for Crime Stoppers’ Tip Line and other crime-prevention programs. Nancy Gordon and Stephanie Smith (pictured, from left) teed off at the TIRR Foundation’s 2016 Tee It Up With TIRR golf tournament. The event welcomed 36 teams of golfers to BraeBurn Country Club. Chairs Bob and Shaw MacIntyre saw a record number of golfers turn out to support the TIRR Foundation and its neurotrauma-research program, Mission Connect. With more than 25 raffle prizes to win, many of the golfers left with more than their clubs. TIRR golf committee members were Kristin Abello, Andrew Bean, Andy Beaupre, Jaime Brochu, John Carter, Genny Gomez, John Harrell, Kay Holmes, Janet McCarter, Louie McCarter, Trey McCord, Robert Walker and John Ware. Others in attendance were J.J. McDermott, Dan Flournoy, Vince Ford, Fisher Trigg, Dan Moody III, Pam Holm, Janet and Louie McCarter, Robert Ross, Gretchen and Ross Coleman, and Melinda Chernosky.

The couple chose a classic Southern style for their fall wedding. Hadley Walker wed John William Black III in a custom Carolina Herrera gown at The Forest Club. Guests were greeted with trays of champagne garnished with blackberries. Some made their way to the Johnny Walker Black whiskey-tasting area. The groom wore a white dinner jacket with a blue and white-checkered bow tie and cummerbund set from High Cotton. The bride works in the book-publishing industry, so she chose her favorite books to be used as décor throughout the club.
