Reunited over good news

When Rhonda Broussard Graff spotted the news on Facebook that her high-school friend Randy Abramson had received good news after being diagnosed with lymphoma last year, she decided it was the perfect time for a reunion. Buddies from Westbury and Bellaire high schools toasting to Randy included Mike Doyle, Bill Jansa, Randy Clark, Mike Rosen, Rick Taylor, Danny Zindler, Laurie Rosen, Donna Burkhalter-Smith, Karen Singley, Shelley Wexler Edelstein and Lisa Lyes, as well as family members Ryan, Ronny and Linda Abramson and Michael Hoffman. Pictured at Rhonda’s home are (from left) Joni Hoffman, Randy Abramson, Mike Rosen, hosts Rhonda Broussard Graff and Mike Graff and Blanche Abramson.

Condit dads The Condit Dad's Club, chaired by Samir Mehta (pictured, far right), started off the school year at The '401 in Bellaire. They relaxed on the outdoor patio and caught up over food and drinks. The club has social events throughout the year,

including Texas Hold 'Em Night, which happened in October. Other dads participate in free early-morning workouts held at Condit's basketball pavilion on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Some of the dads pictured are Manny Reyes, Ryan Knape and Will Dabney.

Bunco group toasts bride

National Night Out Neighbors from the 5400 and 5500 blocks of Jessamine, Aspen, Huisache, Grand Lake and Evergreen celebrated National Night Out in the parking lot of Prosperity Bank. Bellaire Chief of Police Byron Holloway stopped by in the vintage police car and shared safety advice for the adults and goodies for the kids. Condit Elementary students Gianna Vela and Josey Hernandez enjoyed going for a (pretend) ride in the Bellaire PD cruiser. Pictured are (from left) Nicole, Chris and Emma Miller, Zak, Layth and Sara Patel, Jean, Cormac, Carmella and Keenan Hawney, Caroline and Rania Meade, Buzz Darilek, Ezra Charles, Mia Kromer, Carol Yeates Newman and Bill Newman married this summer with immediate family in attendance. A week later, at Carol’s monthly Bunco night, she filled her friends in on the good news. They wanted to celebrate with the newlyweds. After failed attempts to find a date to celebrate, Carol was in for a big surprise at the September Bunco night she was hosting. Her friends had decided to throw her a surprise celebration – at her own home. The group knew Carol was serving tacos and margaritas that evening, so they brought in additional fajitas, champagne, desserts and gifts, plus additional friends to help celebrate. (Plus, Bill was hiding behind the door when the Bunco group “stormed the house” that evening.)
