Pre-prom promenading It was a Hollywood entry for Emery/Weiner High School seniors as they arrived at the Selzer family home for a pre-prom photo session. The home is on a U-shaped street, which got so backed up with traffic that each student was dropped off one car at a time, creating a red carpet-like moment. Neighbors clapped as the students walked by. Some among the glitterati were Erika Selzer, Kayla Roseman, Vanessa Ross, Melissa Darlow, Ryan Brandt, Lindsey Bronston, Ariel Brown, Hannah Kass, Andrew Gomel, Joseph Kuperman, Samantha Minkowitz, Brook Lampert, Drew Levy, Richard Fielkow, Jennie Levy, Eric Uzick,
Margery DePriest, Isabelle Bressler, Oren Rosenbaum, Alyssa Cohen, Jordan Dokell, Grant Zucker, Matthew Leightman, Gal Tuchshneider, Samuel Spier, Noah Baliff, Cameron Rubenstein, Alec Lapin, David Kramer, Melanie Lopez, Aaron Warga, Darci Papell, David Romo, Cameron Cavalier, Alison Wulfe, Andrew Frederick and Alexa Barsky.

Condit Elementary second graders Nicholas Nair, Jonathan Chiriboga and Mia Septimus and homeschooled Marcus Lewis, Jr. (from left) embarked on their first kids’ triathlon at the University of Houston. They swam 100 meters, biked three miles and ran a half mile to the finish. Some 1,800 participants worked their way through the course while parents cheered on the sidelines. The triathletes donned ankle bracelets with chips inside as they dove into the Olympicsized pool one by one. Next they quickly ran to a transition area where bikes were lined up and changed into their shorts and a dry shirt. They walked their bikes to the start of the bike course and after, for the final leg of the race, ran a half mile to the finish line.
