Words from the Vice Principal

Note from the Editor…

Hello and welcome to this Special Edition of our College Newsletter which celebrates the life of Dr John Snow, in this, his birthday month.

The Edition begins with a piece from our College Principal threading together Dr John Snow’s work on cholera with the current COVID19 situation and is followed by a brief history of his life and achievements.

After that we turn to news from our JCR, students and alumni. In his piece, our JCR President - Richard - highlights a range of charity fundraising events which the JCR have led on and delivers the exciting news of the first production from our newly formed “Blizzard” Theatre group.

A variety of events and activities have kept our students engaged this Term...

Some students took part in the cheerful Lunar New Year celebrations, others attended an engaging Post Grad Scholars Supper in Durham’s historic and beautiful Town Hall, whilst others have participated in the Employability Month workshops.

The pioneering spirit of Dr Snow is reflected in the articles written by student recipients of the College Student Development Fund, with the Newsletter culminating in engaging articles from four of our successful alumni.

We hope you enjoy the publication and remind you that should you wish to contribute an article to a future edition, please contact us at snow.college@durham.ac.uk

Best wishes,

Janet Vice-Principal
