North of Bricktown lies the Deep Deuce neighborhood rich in history and born out of cultural diversity. This African American community-inspired writer Ralph Waldo Ellison, who was born in Deep Deuce, and guitarist Charlie Christian who is attributed for helping create Bebop and the Cool Jazz music genres.
Today, the area still flourishes with restaurants, bars, hotels, retail shops, and upscale apartments. One of the most popular businesses in the area is Bar Cicchetti. Casual cuisine infused with hints of Mediterranean inspiration throw in creative, handcrafted cocktails and it’s what makes this joint a charming, one-of-a-kind hot spot.
The mood and ambiance are sophisticated yet remain carefree and unpretentious. The locale is filled with hip and SQ788 TAX STATE & LOCAL SALES TAX modern decor creating comfortable indoor and outdoor seating spaces, including a covered patio that is caninefriendly. Carrying on the past neighborhood tradition, local musicians play frequently on site. If you’re in the mood for pasta, check out the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. A delectable dish concocted from Parmesan Cream, shaved Parmesan Cheese, and Housemade pappardelle pasta which is similar to Alfredo noodles.
Make sure to save room to sample one of their scrumptious desserts. The Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding is fabulous! Warm and gooey layers smothered in caramel sauce goodness coupled with cool, creamy vanilla gelato. It’s the perfect way to complete your dining experience and there’s plenty to share a few bites with your dinner companion. Are you getting hungry yet?
There’s never a wrong choice to be made at Bar Cicchetti. If you like cauliflower, sample their Crispy Cauliflower topped with fried green onions, and garlic aioli paired with their peppadew hot sauce. Don’t worry if you don’t like vegetables, they have plenty of other options!
Their blackened chicken sandwich is one of my favorites! If you can actually love a sandwich, this is the one for me! Blackened Chicken Breast stacked with applewood smoked bacon, heirloom tomato, in-house pickled red onion, avocado, American cheese, garlic aioli, and local greens. I opt for fries as my usual side, but if you prefer you can select local green salad or seasonal vegetables to accompany your sandwich.
Another item you can’t go wrong with is the Cheeseburger Americana which consists of a smash burger patty piled high with caramelized onions, House-made pickles, shredded lettuce, heirloom tomato, and of course American Cheese! It’s gigantic and oh so delicious! Impossible Burger Patty is available for an additional charge. When I’m out for drinks, I’m always amused by the clever drink names describing their alcoholic concoctions and I admire places that provide rotating seasonal cocktail options, such as the ones you’ll find at Bar Cicchetti.
Bar Cicchetti is the ideal setting for hanging out with friends, celebrating special occasions, or dining solo. The atmosphere is relaxed and mellow. I look forward to trying many more things on the menu in the near future.
