What is the history of your home?

Thehomewas built by a family from New York. Theprevious owner,a long-time Steamboat family with deep roots in theSSWinter Sports Club ran a ski manufacturing operation out of thegarage.I think the ski area views helped with inspiration!

What do you love about it?

Welovethe yard. Welove thebarn. We love walking ?the loop?and visiting with neighbors.We lovewinter nights with the warm and cozy fire. This is a peaceful,sereneproperty that feels likea remote ranch but is just minutes away from Steamboat. In the Spring,thehay begins to grow and sway,providing a beautiful backdrop to themountains beyond.Thereis privacy in every direction. You can walk on dirt roads from thehousethrough horse pastures and land surrounding other ranches.

Why did you buy it or build it?

Wehavealways dreamt of owning alog homeon a peaceful ranch property. Homestead Lane offered the perfect combination of nice family home,additional apartment living space,and a convenient distancefrom town. Additionally,we liked the opportunity to build and expanded master bedroom with a privatedeck. Welove the privateroad and great neighbors.

What is the most beautiful thing about your home?

It?s all beautiful. Thereis quiet and solitude,and views of naturewhich are stunning in all directions. Hard to say what is better,enjoying coffeeon thebedroom deck,BBQon thefront deck,or roasting hot dogs over thefire. Wecan seethe ski area and thelights from night skiing in thedistance,we can seethe fields of hay all around us. Wecan see horses grazing in thefields and an endless bluesky.
