From the Vault: Bosconians' meaningful club experiences

Don Bosco is known for having a multi-faceted curriculum. Likewise, it shows that the institution offers a holistic opportunity for the students to improve in different aspects of their lives. One of the foundations of nurturing the students' character is Club participation DBTI- Makati is known for having various clubs that cater different interests of the students Hence, the community honed through this club showed that Bosconianshave meaningful engagements with each other through club activities, participation, and meetings

One of my favorite experiences in my club was the opportunities given to serve God in masses as an altar server and, in other aspects, during meetings What I enjoyed the most were the lessons taught and how we could also apply these in life However, what I deeply enjoyed in my club throughout this school year the most were the simple bonding moments; I love how everyone is enthusiastic and optimistic in what they do and simply being there to guide my fellow juniors as one of them the club's seniors in JHS

We tied knots, a bit odd to be a favorite experience, but this was nostalgic to my past experiences with BSP Because in my experience with boy scouts, I got the chance to go camping, where we learned how to make fire, finished obstacle courses, swam in mud, made knots, and made new friends

The best experience of my club was when we documented the foundation day celebrations Because, in fact, we really had fun taking creative shots and trying to take a picture without the flash even though it was dark in the Magone dome, but even if it was, we made sure to capture everything And lastly, another is the documentation for the Manoag pilgrimage because it tested my knowledge of photography through taking pictures like creative shots, portraits, and landscapes I got to bond more with the photography club members through the pilgrimage since it was the first event we documented Siguro best club experience for me was how lahat kame nagshashare/rant about things that we relate to as club members Lahat kame comfortable with talking with things na nararansan namin at palaging may tawanan samin sa peer counselors Every meeting was the best for me cause we all felt like we were in a safe space While trying to improve on oursleves napapansin rin namin na we were able to help rin others because of the things na tinuro ni maam Elna

The best experiences in my club are whenever there's an event, I get to take pictures and roam around, which also benefits me because I get to appreciate the events more

My club experiences are not limited to club meetings, which made my experiences great

My favourite club experience was when I and other club members sang during teachers' day It was nice to work together and practice with my fellow members And together we sang very nicely, and it felt nice

I think the one club experience i remember so dearly is when we played against the alumni members of the volleyball club As a student who enjoys playing the sport, this experience was both fun and challenging as the past members were really talented and were really trained to excel They displayed teamwork really well, that's why I believe we also picked up a lesson while playing against them

As the President of the Volleyball club, my favorite experiences were teaching new players the basics of volleyball and how to play, the connection being developed with clubmates, and the sportsmanship being shown to each other Also, playing volleyball is like an escape on tiring days when I feel different from my usual routine It is a stress reliever Every spike is a way to vent my stress and struggles on that day

In my experience through all the club meetings that we had this SY 2022-2023, for me the best experience that I had is when we met face to face because, after the quarantine era of the whole world, it's hard to cope with how to interact with each other It is the best experience for me because, from them, I remember how I love the Math Subject at the olden times when I was still younger

For me, the best club experience is just the genuine happiness that everyone experiences during club meetings In Guhit Busko, we are taught or to further develop our skills in drawing At first it might look off but if you keep putting your efforts to it, you'll feel proud on how your drawing turned out To add to such a great experience, we are accompanied by Ma'am Escabillas who showed her outmost support to fully bring out our potential in drawing All I can say that these people and all the small moments of happiness are what makes my best club experience

Thursday is one of the most anticipated days in the institution because it is the club meeting day Students are mobilized in different locations where their club is having their meetings

Likewise, this is like a small gathering to meet the club animators and other members after a long tiring day of academic discussions It creates a new family within the Educative Pastoral Community where shared interests are the same for everyone

Different houses from the Junior High School Department competed for the Intramurals 2023, led by the MAPEH Area

The sports that included that the students competed to get a podium finish are Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Table Tennis, and Badminton

The unwavering support of the department was evident as the advisers, subject teachers, and parents were seen to assist and guide the students during the intramurals.
