uben Bonilla grew up in Corpus Christi, but left to attend the University of Texas at Austin. After serving in a gubernataorial candidate campaign office, Bonilla wished to find a self-employed profession that would see success based on his hard work and dedication. Moving back to his hometown, Bonilla now serves as a Farmer’s insurance agent as well as co-owner of Downtown Corpus Christi Crossfit. Bonilla enjoys being active and in the best shape possible, with his number one hobby being Crossfit. He also enjoys attending sporting events and weekend game viewings with friends. Clinton, Bonilla’s son, helps drive his dad to be hard working and successful. Bonilla wishes to be a positive role model and pass on to his son the strong work ethic his parents instilled in him. Over the years, Bonilla has volunteered for and supported multitudes of organizations, such as the American Diabetes Association, Texas Exes, Leadership Corpus Christi, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Club, and Big Brother/Big Sister. In his free time, Bonilla enjoys traveling the globe and experiencing different cultures while sampling authentic, native dishes. He plans to continue to expand his clientele and market to surrounding areas, while finding time to jet set to locales on his bucket list.
