Who are we?
The Lunenburg Barnacle is an alternative printmonthly, digital-sporadically publication chronicling the everyday of Lunenburg County on both sides of the LaHave.
Established in February 2023, we are an independent, non-profit, volunteer-driven cooperative committed to connecting people in our communities.
We print a monthly eight-page newspaper highlighting local news, lifestyle content, and humour to inform and entertain. Our print edition is found at bookstores, cafes, farmers markets, pubs and libraries across the county.
Online, we keep the pulse on what’s happening across Lunenburg County through frequent social media updates and the most comprehensive events listings in the region.

Our website sees more than 4,000 unique website visitors from the South Shore each month, and our audience is rapidly growing. We also connect about 150 subscibers to our website and pdf version of the print edition through a monhtly newsletter.
