India's First Pre-Engineered Theatre
The six-screen cinema theatre is a popular hangout spot in Chembarambakkam in the state of Tamil Nadu. It has redefined cinemagoing experiences with its one-of-a-kind approach to house a cinema complex within a pre-engineered structure. Despite its unique approach, the cinema theatre does not compromise with the entertainment it delivers.
EVP Cinemas is the by-product of Santhosh Reddy's visionary idea as he introduced for the first-time cinematic entertainment in a pre-engineered building (PEB). The construction began towards the end of 2017 and the cinema theatre was fully functional by 2019. With a total of six screens to satiate the demands of the audience, the cinema boasts a seating capacity of 1515 seats.

Being the first PEB Theatre in India, EVP Cinemas has gained itself a name for its uniqueness. Each of its screens are fabricated wall to wall, and are boosted with 4K quality projection and Dolby Atmos sound technology.
The cinema theatre features a large and extensive lobby, that can accommodate around 500 moviegoers. It is home to three food courts and offers alternative entertainment options like gaming for children and teenagers. What is a Pre-Engineered Building (PEB)?
A pre-engineered building is a building that is designed and manufactured off-site, in a factory or workshop, and then transported to the construction site for assembly. PEBs are commonly used in industrial, commercial, and institutional construction projects because they offer several advantages over traditional building methods.

The cinema theatre has dedicatedly separated LED panels that play advertisements and those that showcase movie updates. The interiors of the lobby are also designed using aluminium composite panels. In between these aluminium composite panels, the cinema designers have made use of polycarbonate. Each of the six screens are designed and conceptualised differently. They follow distinct colour schemes and this is visible from the colours of the seats, walls and lights along the stairs. The lights usually match the scheme of the auditorium.
"The entire structure has been made using PEB structure. Our involvement was from the initial stage so that we could achieve the best seating layout for all of the six screens and also the best viewing angles keeping in mind that the screens were located right next to each other in a circle. Since it was a PEB structure, using our expertise and experience, the chair fasteners were first laid and then the concrete flooring was completed. All chairs were of 23" CTC to ensure maximum comfort and satisfaction for the audience. All of this was achieved using hard work and team efforts of all the people involved in the project. The building sits steady with three floors, with the ground floor being the showrunner as it houses the cinema screens, the lobby and the concessions area, while the other floors house the projection room and the air conditioning indoor units. EVP Cinemas offers its visitors ample space for parking and was Tamil Nadu's first cinema theatre to be boosted with FASTag for parking payments.
