Senior Constable Fiona Read, who organises the event under the Blue Light banner, says this year was the first senior competition which involved the emergency services competing against the colleges in the district. New Electra board members

The Electra Trust, has appointed two new directors to the board of Electra Limited. They are Levin chartered accountant Shelly Mitchell-Jenkins and Raumati Beach information and communications technology specialist Chris Dyhrberg. Trust chairman Chris Turver said the appointments followed the retirement of long-serving board member Martin Devlin, of Waikanae, and take into account the Trust’s wish to build succession planning into appointments. The Co-operative Bank will give a rebate to 3804 Levin customers. It is a share of $50,865 surplus profits the bank gives back as part of its annual rebate. This is the second year in a row The Co-operative Bank has done so. Across New Zealand, customers will receive a total $1.3m in rebate

The winning team this year was from Levin Intermediate in a time of 2.46 followed closely by Coley Street School in a time of 2.50. Opiki, Koputaroa, and Otaki College tied for third in the time of 2.56. Senior Constable Fiona Read said the teamwork showed by all constestants was outstanding.
