The Kapiti/Horowhenua division of Parkinson’s provide a service of visiting people in their own homes and rest homes, giving the support of a highly qualified registered nurse as the Parkinson’s Educator. Last year, Parkinson’s helped 38 families in Foxton and Levin. It expects this number to grow each year, in keeping with the growth in membership. The organisation also provides training for care staff in rest homes and hospitals in Levin.
