Great evening at Southwards The theme of the Paraparaumu College ball at Southwards Theatre on Saturday night was The Golden 20s. The inspiration for the night was drawn from the lavishly renowned parties of the Great Gatsby. The theatre was decked out in a classically opulent fashion. Students arrived in style by an array of transport from caravans, fire engines, stretch limos, hot rods, classic American cars, a VW with a surfboard on top. Lots of

people turned out to watch the students arrive. Features included a photo booth, punch bar, DJ and a band and a large balloon drop. Angus McCaulay and Jess Jenkins were the ball king and queen. Reegan Pirie and Renee Lawton were ball prince and princess. Best dressed was Rachel Hillier (Year 13) and Jess Pallikaros (Year 12).

The Cutest date was Rachel Foronda and Nevi Kingi (Year 13) and Katrina Thompson and Gray Laurenson (Year 12). The head student dance was choreographed by Rachel Foronda and was a great success culminating will all 260 students dancing together. “A massive thank you to all those who played a role in making it a wonderfully successful night,” ball committee co-head Jess Jenkins said.
