Shared Care Record
Improvements are being made to the way your information is shared.
The new electronic Shared Care Record will let authorised health care providers, such as after hours GPs and hospital doctors, access a summary of information from your GP. Information like your test results, medical conditions, allergies and prescribed medications will be shared. The information will be available at any time, even if your medical practice is closed. The information is stored securely in New Zealand and all access to the information is recorded and routinely audited. You can choose to withhold some or all of your information. However, if you choose to withhold your information, health professionals involved in your care, for example in an emergency or after hours situation, may not immediately have information available and this could delay appropriate treatment and mean additional tests are needed. To find out if your practice is involved in the project or for more information, call the 0800 number below. A National Air Observers training course for Search and Rescue (SAR) personnel in techniques for locating SAR targets from the air is being held on Sunday April 27 from 10am until 4pm. An Air-2-There Cessna Caravan aircraft will be operating out of Kapiti Coast Airport. There will be two water targets located about 1km off the Waikanae River mouth and 1km off southern end of Raumati South beach. Two land targets will be placed on Te Kowhai Farm at Peka Peka and Queen Elizabeth Park. Spotting requires the aircraft to travel between heights of 400 to 100 feet. There will be a total of three flights over each target.
