is nothing short of striking. Nestled in the heart of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens alongside the Avon River, the Function Room offers an exclusive location for your ceremony, reception or both. The light, bright and modern architecture is enveloped by the year round beauty of the gardens. The bespoke space in the Function Room is only enhanced further when joined with the Café and Visitors Centre. Weddings can be held in the Function Room any time and day of the week, while the Café and Visitor Centre are available for private functions in the evenings. Ceremonies can be held off site, in the Function Room or you can make it an outdoor affair in one of three locations in the Gardens. The charming Townend House Conservatory is also available for
ceremonies at certain times of year. With the spaces available as individual or complementary areas Vbase has “the flexibility to arrange weddings of varying sizes and styles” says Vbase Local Business Development Manager, Lauren File. “The Function Room can accommodate up to 120 guests for a sit-down reception or 160 for a cocktail style event and configured to include a dance floor if desired.” Spectacular photography locations and an ultra-modern setting inside and out ensures ilex Café & Events offers you an exclusive setting for your big day.
HAGLEY OVAL PAVILION was opened in October 2014 for domestic and international cricket events and now offers another unique space to Vbase’s function options. Beneath the impressive marquee style roof, modern facilities are superbly complemented by panoramic views over the iconic oval and Hagley Park. The spacious upstairs function lounge is easily accessible and can accommodate up to 180 guests for a sit down dinner or 260 for a standing function. With its distinctive bar and ample floor space for all matter of set-ups, Hagley Oval Pavilion combines contemporary décor with the atmosphere of a traditional English pavilion.
Large sliding doors face west to embrace the outdoor ambience and perfectly frame those long summer evenings.
