PROJECT 1
The data collection of noise level on my personal learning performance at school library, home and apartment’s study room. Home
This study was conducted to determine the level of noise on my learning performance that was recorded with 50 data points and in three location, school library, home and apartment’s study room. The learning quality is highly influenced by the environment, since I got ear infection from November 2018 that sensitively affect my concentration and working time. noise is defined as unwanted sound that could give negative effects to a person both physically (such as hearing loss) and psychologically (such as frustration and nuisance). As the research, noise could make dizzy, make people feel tired, make headache and make heart palpitate. the psychological impacts of the noise on the student included hard to concentrate, stress, laziness, and less comfortable, while the highest percentage was it made the students angry and uncomfortable. During my collecting, the three location was filled with different noise.

School Libaray
The school library that I was collected in building 100 and building 45,the main noise is from students talking, computer noise and teaching noise. My home is adjacent the street, and the major noise is from fridge noise, street noise and neighbor noise. The fridge noise actually is the major noise which surprise me, the fridge noise is a long time and no changing sound which called background noise, when I focus on works, the background noise can lead to a uncomfortable and stress feelings. The apartment study room is located downstair of my building level one.its a public area for people study or relax. The major noise is from people talking and open or close the door. The test result is recorded by an apple app NIOSH SLM, I tested the fridge noise and showed the noise level is 46.3dB(A) around the fridge.

PROCESS
The information of one data point include date, location, noise data and personal feelings. After collected 50 data point with a timeline from morning to night in three days. I separate theses data into three location, school library, home and apartment’s study room. So in each location, I have enough data point of a full day time. In the home, I got data points from 9:00am to 11:50pm. In the study room, I got data points from 9:30am to 5:10pm.In the school library, I got data points from 9:30am to 9:30pm.
I choose to visualize the noise data with a timeline of a daytime in three location . compare with visualize the noise level in three location of a same time(example 2) noise level map ), a timeline of daytime can present my personal daily life better and people can more easily understand that what I have heard during a day in different location.

NIOSH SLM test noise level
The NIOSH Sound Level Meter (SLM) app combines the best features of professional sound levels meters and noise dosimeters into a simple, easy-to-use package. The app was developed to help workers make informed decisions about their noise environment and promote better hearing health and prevention efforts.
Noise levels A person can generally perceive a 1 – 3 dB change in noise levels. However the perceptions of noise levels are different to the actual energy that the ear is subjected. The perception of noise levels double every 10 dB, however the increase in energy experienced by the ear is doubled every 3dB. When it comes to the potential for noise induced hearing loss, it is the noise energy level that is critical. The noise energy levels considered to be excessive when noise levels exceed LAeq, 8hr of 85 dB(A) and LC,peak of 140 dB(C). picture1:noise level chart:decibel levels of common sounds with exampls, https://boomspeaker.com/noise-level-chart-db-level-chart/

After the research of the noise level. (reference: Ear Protection For Drummers ,General By DrummingPalace.) I decided to give noise levels and the same time test with flute scale. The moise leveIs I go through its from 26.4dB(A) to 68.2dB(A), so a level of 5 dB(A) is given to, totally its 9 level of the sounds. Facing Problems
the first time, I collected data about the feelings vary in different reading categories. I collected the dates, reading titles, feelings and heart beats. After the data collection, I noticed that heart beats and qualitative feelings are not representative of my reading experience. The changing of heart beats during the reading is rarely.Because of that, I start the second data collection, the connection between noise level and study concentration, learning performance.

I chose Melbourne University because my home is close to here. In my spare time, I often go to the library and lawn to rest and eat. I am familiar with the facilities and location of the University of Melbourne. So I want to test the illuminance of this area and get a conclusion to help me choose the right brightness to rest, read a book or eat on the lawn.

Light Meter Illuminance is a measure of how much luminous flux is spread over a given area. One can think of luminous flux(measured in lumens ) as a measure of the totalamount of measure of the intensity of illumination on a surface. Features: - Realtime measurements - One-time measurement - Average and Max values - Indoor and outdoor modes - Front and rear cam - Lux and Foot candle measurements 13

PROCESS
I use grasshopper in rhino, Grasshopper can help me show graphics very well. I can control the size and shape of the graphic more precisely. In my design, I have a basic pattern, with a map size, I give 12*36 pattern graphic map. Every small patterns to display the area data in this area. The edge direction of every polygon of the graphic will change by the brightness of the map area. The more dark the pattern there are more like small star.I use the attractor point to give the location of the fixed point. The brightness will change at the specified position. And the size of the changed range is programmed by the size of the shadow of the tree.

Master Student LIVING IN MERLBOURNE AGE : 27 I am Eve, 27, and I am studying a Master’s degree at RMIT University. I tend to get sick quite often and need medical attention. In one night, I blacked out for a couple of minutes and was not able to move afterwards. My boyfriend tried to find a doctor for me, but he simply couldn’t find one. A website to find doctors that are currently open would help me in these situations.

I AM DANIEL REISSNER (28), A PHD STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE. I USUALY WORK LATE AND MY POTENTIAL TIME TO SEE A DOCTOR IS VERY LIMITED. ONCE AT UNIVERSITY, I WAS IN A HURRY AND HIT MY TOE AGAINST MY DESK WHILE STANDING UP. IT WAS ALREAY AFTER 5:00PM AND I COULD NOT FIND AN AVAILABLE DOCTOR. SO I NEEDED TO RETURN HOME WITH A POTENTIALLY BROKEN TOE. A WEBSITE SHOWING DOCTORS AFTER THE USUAL WORKING HOURS WOULD HELP ME A LOT WITH MY TYPICAL STUDYING TIME.

The second effect is the outcircle with colour effect, if they have a irregular lunch break or open hours the color will be highlited with light blue, otherwise its light pink. The third effect is size of the location. the bigger size is the better selection for patients to choose, they have longer opening hours and no lunch break.

Medicare is the publicly funded universal health care system in Australia. Operated by the Department of Human Services, Medicare is the primary funder of health care in Australia, funding primary health care for Australian citizens and permanent residents including Norfolk Island. Australian medical care is supported by insurance and taxation. There is a lot of research on medical mechanisms, but there are very few surveys about clinic opening hours and how people receive medical help after closing business. In a public area, the touch screen service can be used for information searching.
