Aldina was interviewed by HUG Magazine about her passion and job as a ‘Wellness Activist’. Her smile is incredibly seductive, and she’s willing to use it. A sense of humour is another tool of seduction in women. Aldina believes that this attitude may serve to surprise one’s discussion partner. She readily throws what the French call l’humour de résistance into the battle, which has let her pass between bullets more than once!

Aldina’s career started at Lolita Lempicka, the fashion house that creates prêt-à-porter and wedding dresses. ‘I learnt a lot about tailoring, materials, style, daring to wear clothes, and I cherish my memories of that time,’ she says. She also likes to try more masculine looks, however, pairing British cut or high-waist trousers with a slim-fit shirt because it makes for a contemporary, easy to wear look. She also loves colour and accessories. The adage that you never get a second chance at making a good first impression is very real in the workplace, and she knows it. She is a woman at ease with her femininity.

Aldina has earned her wings in tourism and moves easily between her positions as Director of Wellness Products at AccorHotels, President of the Spa-A association, and President of the STO2 Wellness Tourism Commission, which is under AFNOR’s aegis. She is quick to defend Wellness Tourism as a new segment that has not been adequately leveraged so far, and so she wants to create new offerings targeting the different markets.

‘It’s fascinating. I particularly like working with the teams on site and helping them implement novelties, measure their success and understand what worked and what didn’t. If you know why something is a success or a failure, you can realise continuous improvement. I have always loved speaking in public since it is such a fantastic opportunity to share, convince and draw people who think differently along.’ It cannot be denied that women bring new energy and a different perspective to tourism. Moreover, passionate men and women must bring the profession of tourism alive. Working together and complementing each other is what leads to excellent results.

The world is her playground. She assigns time zones to her files and priorities to manage her day-to-day life. A day in the office starts in Asia Pacific and ends in the Americas, allowing her to work interactively regardless of the distance. She finds her balance at night with her family. She considers making wellbeing accessible to the greatest number of people her real challenge. HUG Magazine - www.hugmag.com
