nthony LaMorte has been designing and handcrafting tables, chairs, benches and bedroom furniture for over 50 years. Using premium materials only, such as hardwoods of the highest grade, durable water buffalo leather and automotive quality chrome plating, he is committed to producing unique pieces of furniture and artworks that last a lifetime. LaMorte discovered his passion for creation in grade school and started building furniture as a freshman at Cal State LA. In the early 1960s, one of his college professors, the renowned artist Robert Brown, inspired him to blend glass art in his designs. LaMorte was still a college student when the California Museum of Science and Industry — now known as the California Science Center — displayed a resin and walnut coffee table he designed. Since then, he has been mixing organic shapes with contemporary materials to create functional art. His distinct style, which started as strict contemporary, evolved towards Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern. LaMorte’s handmade, custom-build furniture and artworks reveal the depth of his creativity and his exceptional craftsmanship. “A custom piece like the fused glass table can take up to 40 hours of work.” Through passion and dedication, and with help of his family, he has gained the trust of both private and professional clients all over the United States.
