the Charity Guys Benevolence through influence
D
esigned to build emotional bonds between charities and their audience, The Charity Guys’ creative fundraising campaigns for celebrities and high-profile organizations raised $1.5 million in 2020.
“It all began with a simple idea, in the middle of the night, during the Covid-19 crisis, wondering how we could make a difference to help those in need by leveraging a high-profile artist’s fan base.” Michael Wiesenfeld launched The Charity Guys with Jean-Charles Carre, co-founder of David Guetta’s label What a Music Ltd, and Jeremy Zeitoun, social media and digital marketing wizard in the fields of music, celebrity marketing and entertainment. In April 2020, their first event United at Home, a live concert in Miami by David Guetta, gathered over 27 million viewers and raised over $750,000 for various charities, including Feeding South Florida who was able to donate 1.8 million meals as a result. The next month, The Charity Guys and David Guetta organized United at Home in New York City, broadcast live from Rockefeller Center’s Top of The Rock. The city’s largest at-home dance party supported NYC Mayor’s Fund for Covid Relief, Feeding America, the World Health Organization and the Fondation des Hôpitaux de France. Following those pioneering United at Home performances, David Guetta was honored by Guinness World Records for breaking the titles for most viewers for a DJ set live stream on Facebook and most liked DJ on Facebook.
