Remembrance Day 2021
Although last year’s ceremony proved deeply touching and poignant arranged so movingly and quietly as it was, it was wonderful to return to the time-honoured march by Alleyn’s CCF through the Village to Christ’s Chapel of God’s Gift and the traditional laying of the wreaths on the cenotaph. On Armistice Day itself, the whole School gathered to listen to a beautiful service led by the Reverend Liz Lander. The CCF paraded and the Last Post and Reveille sounded in a respectful act of remembrance.

nnual Dinner
The 124th Annual Dinner of the Edward Alleyn Club took place at School on Saturday 13 November. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner followed by an entertaining address from the outgoing President, Mrs Lizzy Frost (Dutton’s 2006) with her emphasis on social enterprise, response by Head, Jane Lunnon with an engaging introduction and fulsome update of the School, and a thought-provoking and erudite contribution on history and its relevant perspectives by guest speaker, Ted Rosner (Spurgeon’s 2006). The traditional handover of the Presidency also took place and Mr Peter Yetzes (Tulley’s 1967) was welcomed as the Edward Alleyn Club President of 2021/22. EAC Treasurer Chris Heybeard was delighted to announce that over £900 was raised on the night for the Alleyn Benevolent Fund (ABF).
