ABOUT THE SCHEDULE: The Gamecocks have another challenging schedule on tap for 2018. Carolina’s 2018 opponents combined for a 79-72 record and a .523 winning percentage during the 2017 season. Two of their 2018 opponents, Georgia and Clemson, reached the FBS Playoff a year ago. FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME: The Chattanooga Moccasins make their first appearance on the Carolina football schedule. The Mocs will visit Columbia on Saturday, November 17. Coached by Tom Arth, The Mocs compete in the FCS Southern Conference. They finished the 2017 season with a 3-8 mark, including a 3-5 record in the SoCon. SEE YOU SOON: Several players are expected to either be limited during the spring or will sit out spring practice entirely as they continue to rehab their injuries: X Senior linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams will not participate in contact drills in the spring following shoulder surgery. X Senior long snapper Ben Asbury is out for the spring with a knee injury. X Junior running back Mon Denson will be limited in the spring following knee surgery. X Redshirt freshman defensive back Jaylin Dickerson is out for the spring after undergoing shoulder surgery. X Freshman linebacker Ernest Jones has a fracture in his back and will likely miss all of spring. X Senior wide receiver Deebo Samuel is limited while recovering from a broken leg and a foot injury that ended his 2017 season. X Sophomore defensive lineman Aaron Thompson is out for the spring following shoulder surgery. X Freshman running back Lavonte Valentine is recovering from a knee injury sustained in high school and will be out for the spring. X Junior linebacker Antoine Wilder is out for the spring after undergoing elbow surgery. X Sophomore defensive back Jamyest Williams is out for the spring after undergoing shoulder surgery.
