Jeff manages the Procters Texel flock which was established in 2003 and is run alongside a pedigree Limousin herd and a 300 commercial ewe flock. Procters Farm Ltd is owned by Tony Moores and is situated just outside Slaidburn, Clitheroe in Lancashire. Jeff grew up on the family farm near Dromore in Northern Ireland and has worked with pedigree sheep all his life. He started working with the Texel breed in 2000 and from then on he has brought out many championship winners at various shows. Jeff has helped shepherd some top flocks prior to starting at Procters in 2009 and has been building up the flock since then, the highlight of which has been selling Procters Samurai for 16,000gns at Lanark 2011. His aim is to breed Texel sheep with good legs and feet, conformation and character for both the pedigree and commercial markets. His job is made easier with the continuous support and hard work from his wife Jennifer and two children, Katie (5) and Robbie (3)

Royal Ulster Show 2012 Jeff Aiken - PROCTERS

Great Yorkshire Show 2012 Victor Chestnutt - Clougher Victor Chestnutt has been involved with Texels since the early 80’s when the Clougher flock was formed. Victor farms at home on the family farm run by himself, wife Carol, son David and occasional help from daughter Zara. The farm is a mixed enterprise. Running alongside the Clougher and Bushmills Texel flocks is a flock of Scottish Blackface which are used for cross breeding as well as pedigree beef herds of Charolais, Limousin, Aberdeen Angus and British Blues. The farm has also recently added a dairy herd. The Texel flock has enjoyed much success down through the years, at sales where it has topped at 18,000gns (Clougher Lincoln - CVC05145) and has been consistently among good prices. The flock has also enjoyed a successful show career and has won the Northern Ireland Flock Competition on numerous occasions culminating by coming third in the Millennium National Flock Competition. Victor counts it a great honour to be asked to place the sheep at the Yorkshire Show. A show which each time he has visited he has admired both the stockmanship and quality of the stock. He will be looking for sheep that are functional, fit not fat and sheep that display correctness, conformation and character. He looks forward to the opportunity to see you all in July.
