Every idea is thought in the architectural atmosphere is related to a set of effects that are either realized or not. This set of effects encompasses events that involve infinite probability and arise from the spontaneous and planned state of everyday life. In this context, the concept of reflex is connected as a metaphor to the basic formation of design. So each line or each project that is designed consciously or unconsciously is a reflex. These reactions include unconscious causalities as well as conscious memory. Being a designer is about being able to develop conscious parts of these reflexes. This improvement can only be achieved with a muscle memory that is reflexed. Therefore, the practical design reinforces the consciousness effect of reflexes. Throughout my course of architecture education, I have tried to translate this into a structure that includes randomness, projects, competitions, workshops, and a set of readings and conscious clusters. By enlarging the set of effects, I aimed at strengthening the relationship with different subject branches in order to broaden the perspective of ideas, each of which is a reflex. The book Reflexes is a compilation of these works.

THE JOURNEY BETWEEN REALITIES: Thanks to the continuity and fluidity of the horizontal orientation surfaces in the museum, the atmosphere will be experienced in turn. During this event, while the main exhibition objects can be seen directly, they will also be experienced through virtual reality and enhanced reality screens along the direction of the circulation. CAMLIBEL COASTAL HABITATS COMPETITION

The starting point of the project is to re-interpret the function of publicity that Tevfik Sırrı Gür Stadium has given to Mersin since the early Republican years through play and information and to spread it to the masterplan of important scale including the historical city center including the whole project area. Habitat expresses the thematic areas of this strategy that signify Common Living Areas for Urban + Sea Life + Natural Plant Cover. In order to pass on these common living areas, three basic principles of project planning, architecture and landscape approaches are adopted. MERSİN CAMLIBEL ARCHITECTURAL IDEA PROJECT COMPETITION

PLANNING STRATEGY Mersin became a center in the Çukurova Region in the 19th century, became a commercial center and has undergone a rapid social, economic and spatial transformation in the last two centuries and especially in the last thirty years. The rapid transformation that has taken place has led to the loss of the vitality of Çamlıbel, a prestigious region of the city, the rapid loss of urban character, the transformation of street life and commercial functions. The city, which was designed by Hermann Jansen with the 1938 Mersin Development Plan and shaped by the Iller Bank Plan, which took its place in 1964, sought solutions to urban problems with breeding improvement plans in the following periods. With the Jansen Plan, the first plan of Mersin, the decisions taken on the issues such as the connection with the coast-city which is still on the agenda in terms of urban development and planning history, making spatial decisions about the use of pedestrian roads, promenade and pedestrian corridors, acquiring the identity of the city, the revitalization of the city center, which can be preserved to some extent, and the re-establishment of the relationship with the coast, are among the planning objectives of the masterplan. It aims to define an organic regeneration process instead of spatial organization, deduction and induction approaches proposed in the field of study, which is a pilot region for the re-establishment of the connection of the urban foci with the coast, which is moving away from the coast and back to the shore. It is recommended that this process be addressed in a precise way in order to ensure the pedestrian-oriented design of an important vehicle space fiction.

Paradox Studio architectural team of students, a ground for exciting architectural debates, Micro-systems of thought, different subject branches; many workshops and studies have been carried out in the studios opened in Kadıköy, Yel Değirmeni, in accordance with the necessity of analyzing, running, interpreting and reproducing, establishing from scratch and making products. The aim of the studio is to keep the excitement of architecture at a high level because of the feeding of the different channels, the continual demolition and reconstruction in theory, the generation of new ideas and the always informal and collective learning style based on experimenting alternatives. In a collective manner with the workshops and other studio work done, the team member with varying numbers of participants without the executive hierarchy maintain the continuity. ‘The thought follows the change of knowledge, adaptation in the sense and parallel to it, in order to reach the information itself or its traces. These are the products of things that micro-level changes bring about. The idea is the whole of a system that, when examined from this micro-scale, contains many conceptual mechanisms within itself and entrenches its functioning into sub-clusters. For a system that will provide both a stable and a fractal process, the required power is the collectivity and interaction between the different thinkers. The studio organizes the work of accessing information, assumes the task of establishing and interrogating relations with other systems.

SURREALITY VIRTUAL REALITY VIRTUAL REALITY WORKSHOP I.T.U. It is a virtual reality workshop designed to better interpret the perception and shape of space by extracting designs from two-dimensional and three-dimensional planes. Controversies have been made for the realization of spatial designs, and expression has been obtained in two dimensions with collage and sketch technique. It was then passed on to the third dimension with a model and model technique, and the opportunity to experience the venues where they were created, using the Google Cardboard eyewear, to set up the participants’ scenarios. The studio is conducted in a collective mindset with exciting discussions and exchanges of ideas. Everyone can present arguments and become a player of the studio as part of the pool of knowledge. A project theme is defined, different approaches are found, new ideas are argued, and that project spreads fractal. There has been a project studio design that works with a questioning system, in which the products are free. Discussions about the handling, teaching, and cause of the projects; the process in which the architectural value of all of them is more preliminary than the emerging products is the most critical point for the MORE studio. UMÖB 15’5 ‘ARCHITECTURE OF DEFORMATIONS’ PARADOX STUDIO

It is an architectural workshop that focuses on the study of deformations in different scales such as city, space, culture, landscape, human and material and the effects of deformations on spatial and urban identity within the context of discussing the relation between deformation concept and architectural intellectual. The concept of acceleration, the theme of the National Architecture Students’ Meeting 2015’5, was taken as the next step in the discovery of deformation and used as an architectural predictive technique. The multidimensional / physical acceleration graphs of the deformations in different scales in the city and the readings and discussions made on these graphs were used to predict the future projections of architectural deformations and to investigate spatial reflections. ÇİZGİN PARADOX STUDIO

It is a collective research of expression as a design student and drawing passion as ‘drawing’ technique which is a method of perception, analysis and transmission by experience of space, situation and feelings. In this context, 50 design students from different cities and universities made simultaneous trips during 2015 summer season and shared them with each other and displayed their drawings in Taşkışla on a common platform in the following period. In the work carried out within the scope of the Manipu-Layer Workshop, the process starts with learning and learning about the place by first choosing a specific location. Discussions were conducted in the context of sketches, and different study areas were identified on small and large scale. Behaviors in these areas, human interaction with the earth, its reaction, its use and its possible connection to the place were investigated and then the study areas determined as Bomontiada and Mecidiyekรถy were divided into layers and the relations between these layers were questioned to produce possible alternative modes of humans and alternative modes of realization, and used as a design tool. The design is beginning to interfere with the reality in front of the current eye and try to look at it with a new eye. Design tools are in fact learning tools; intervention is only a new phase of learning.

As a reality, the city is extremely complex, layered and acting on its own.

From the initial observation and reality extraction processes to the mapping and reviewing process and subsequent manipulation processes, continuous video work has been done. This is where the manipulation and designer intervention begins as the “reality begins to be extracted.” Similar to the continuing presence of a student who will already be seen at this point, similar to the continuing presence of the student, the manipulation and designer intervention “begins when the reality begins to be extracted” “It is the phase that begins.

The design is beginning to interfere with the reality in front of the current eye and try to look at it with a new eye.
