Adult Classes Health and Fitness BEGINNERS YOGA DAYTIME CLASSES Yoga is an important component to any “workout” or “fitness” program for individuals of all levels. Athletes and beginners alike benefit from improved coordination, increased range of motion and flexibility and endurance. Studies show tremendous value in yoga as part of a “cross-training” and injury prevention routine. Often times the fast pace of a “flow” class can be confusing or too advanced for beginners. Without a foundation of the fundamental poses, students may be confused or even risk injury. This class breaks down the most common poses (ASANAS) from the ground up, in a slower-paced format. Students will learn proper alignment in order to help protect the body and at the same time, learn to make adjustments or modifications in their own body to get the most benefits. This class is perfect for beginners or yogis looking to enhance their practice and anyone who desires a deeper understanding of alignment. Dates: Tuesdays April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 May 7, 14, 21, 28 June 4, 11, 18, 25 Time: 10:00 am-11:00 am Cost: April: $50 Resident/$55 Non-Resident (per month) May/June: $40 Resident/$45 Non-Resident (per month) Registration Deadline: One week before the start of each month Location: Taft House Special Note: Must pre-register for entire month-long class.
