Attimes,emailsmayappeartobesentfromsomeoneyouknowandtrust.Ifyou’re notsureifit’srealorfake,callthesenderoremailITaboutyourconcerns. TURN ON DUAL FACTOR AUTHENTICATION Ifyourpasswordsarestillweakoryouhavethesamepasswordonmultiple accounts,onethingthatmaybeabletostopthathackeris2factorauthentication. It’sanextralayerofsecurityafteryourpassword,likeatextedcode,pin,ora hardwaretoken.It’simportanttosetupthisextralayerofsecuritybecauseitmakes itthatmuchmorecomplicatedforahackertogetintoyouraccounts.Combining thiswithstrong,uniquepasswordscanprotectyourdataverywell.
WORK ON YOUR PASSWORD MANAGEMENT Twooutofeveryfivepeoplehavehadtheiridentitieshacked,passwords compromised,orsensitiveinformationbreachedbecauseofduplicateandoutdated passwords.Itcanbetemptingtousethesameorslightvariationsofthesame passwordsonmultipleaccounts.Itcanalsobetemptingtowriteyourpasswordsin aspreadsheetoronastickynote.Butifonepasswordiscompromisedinathird partydatabreech,somethingthat’snotyourfaultatall,hackersnowhaveaccessto yourappleID,bank,socialmedia,ormedicalportal. CONSIDER PURCHASING A BASIC ANTIVIRUS MatthewrecommendsanantiviruscalledMalwareBytes.Thesoftwarehelpsyou whileinternetbrowsingbecauseitreadsaheadtothewebsiteandifitthinksit’snot safe,itwillstopyou.IThasanadvancedantivirusthat’srunningonallworkdevices, butit’simportantinyourpersonallifeaswell. Sam Alford, veteran of the Air Force and father, has been working at Terrible’s for nearly 15 years. He spent the first 10 years as a manager of a Terrible’s lube shop and continued on to be the lead maintenance fuel technician for another 5. Throughout the past 15 years, he has many great memories but can’t decide on a favorite.
A participant of 2 winning Guinness World Records, Sam not only built the power supply of the fastest jet in the world during his time working for Lockheed Martin, he was also involved in Terrible’s world record of the largest cup of lemonade in 2015.
During his time being a lube manager, the first year of the 98.5 bicycle drive, Sam andtheteammembersathisstorepooledtogethertipstobuymorebikesforthe drive. The first year we did that it was phenomenal to me, ” said Sam about the drive.
