HAND // Projects designed with &™. Made with our hands. &™ is the exploratory design studio and shop lead by Nicholas Ter Meer.

Weave Stool The Weave Stool is a combination of styles and materials. Three of the four legs are pine while one is cedar. The dowel is connected and expressed by Japanese-style wedge dowel joinery. A unique addition is the seat--the stool is a single thread paracord woven in an elongated checker pattern.

Dimensions 18” x 18” x 18” 2016

4

Dove Stool The Dove Stool is a simple and bold stool. One-inch birch board is cut to a 90° dovetail, expressing the layers of board as strength and power of connections.

Dimensions 18” x 18” x 12” 2016

6

Concrete Candle Holder The Concrete Candle Holder is a series of three cylinder-cast concrete with brass hardware.

Dimensions 4.5 x 4.5 2016

8

01 Coffee Table The 01 Coffee Table gracefully combines the organic lines of the live edge oak top with the structured aesthetic of the cedar and birch dowel base.

Dimensions 65” x 25.5” x 17” 2015

10

01 Shelf The 01 Shelf incorporates minimal aesthetics with traditional dowel joinery. The combination of cedar and birch is expressed by an exposed dowel joint. Upper left dowel, extends through frame to emphasize the joints function and also serve as a hook.

Dimensions 27.5” x 17” x 70” 2015

UIC: CasaMare The goal of the UIC was to reveal the myriad of interconnected political, economic, social and physical design issues that affect the use of common spaces and to create a collaborative framework that allows participants in the U.S. and Italy to create an ongoing dialogue. The UIC: CasaMare is planned as a long-term commitment to on-the-ground action with local players. During the Casa Mare action the badanti group told us that one of the most important features of a Casa Mare is a hanging carpet. This carpet is made by weaving communally. We took this idea and found a material in the abandoned Ospedale al Mare that we could weave as a collective act to create a bulletin board for the Casa Mare.

In addition to the pavilions on the main grounds, Chase also sponsors the Chase Lounge, a large indoor mezzanine on the grounds. One of the outdoor pavilions served as a registration booth for the Chase Lounge. The other pavilion contains a large LED wall with a cellphone locker and charger located behind each LED unit. Upon entering simple security questions on an iPad in the pavilion, a locker with the corresponding color will illuminate signifying to the user which locker is assigned. Each locker is complete with a fully secure locking mechanism allowing for customers to leave their phones while charging. Upon returning and entering the same security questions, the LED illuminated with the corresponding color to unlock and reset the locker

Mobile Locker Room The Chase Locker Room invited guests to win prizes and VIP experiences in two locations within a mobile truck unit positioned outside of MetLife Stadium and at a second footprint located in the center of the Chase Club inside the stadium. At both locations, Jets & Giants fans had the opportunity to open locker doors, which acted as a delivery mechanism to inform guests which prizes they won. To utilize the mobile locker room for both team activations, alternate team branding was designed to be interchangeable using channels to slide into position. In 2015, the Chase Locker Room was executed at a total of 16 games and reached nearly 20,000 fans in attendance to New York Jets and New York Giants games in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
