Management

Mr. Thomas Wilson Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Teralight Ltd.& Subsidiaries Thomas Wilson is CEO and Founder of Teralight Ltd. and its subsidiaries, based in Dubai, UAE with offices located in Austin, Texas, Beirut, Lebanon, Islamabad, Pakistan, Istanbul and Phoenix, Arizona. He is also the founder and a current board member for SAMENA Telecommunications Council, based in Dubai, UAE. Mr. Wilson has over thirty plus years of experience in the ICT field, primarily working with operators, governments, service providers and large enterprise institutions. Mr. Wilson has served as an Organizational and Strategic Development consultant to the Telecommunications industry, since 1981. The majority of his experience has been in providing to investors and service providers alike, business plan development, business case modeling, asset due diligence, strategic planning, M&A strategic development, organizational management and other professional services in the service provider environment. Mr. Wilson focuses on issues supporting the operators, investors in service providers and other important catalysts for growth oriented telecommunications in the SAMENA region, such as infrastructure development, network development and test, revenue assurance, international roaming, mobile TV, leveraging customer ownership regarding content transport, and other issues. Wilson also has developed programs in the area of professional education in areas of high growth and important impact to the industry such as network infrastructure including FTTX/GPON, copper revamping, OSP and safety compliance, wireless network technologies, policy development, regulatory matters and other related business interests. Mr. Wilson and his company are current members in the ITU-D sector, the Pacific Telecommunications Council, BCISI, ISOC, GRAPPA, FTTH, FOA and has also participated in the early stage development of Telecommunications Associations in Europe and the USA. Mr. Wilson has also founded a publishing company called Infomark and several telecommunications service providers during his career. Wilson has authored four industry books, which were typically reference and resource guides. He has been published multiple times in leading industry trade journals. Mr. Wilson holds a degree in International Business Management, graduating with a 4.0 and Summa Cum Laude.

Mr. Jeffrey T. Seal

Chief Operating Officer Jeff Seal is a successful, energetic technology executive with over 25 years progressive management experience in the local, national and international technology, voice and data services field. Jeff is a dynamic, forward thinking, proactive team leader who inspires confidence and loyalty in his employees. He has broad experience in entrepreneurial start-up companies, as well as established, publicly held companies in each of the above technology fields. Mr. Seal has successfully worked with many international telephone companies (PTT’s) and carriers over the last several years on network and data projects, and spent quite a bit of time in the Asia region working side by side with the management of these operators. The projects have included operators such as Singtel, Pt Telekom, China Railcom, China Telecom, China Unicom, Lao Telecom, NTT, Time Telecom, and VNPT, among others. Jeff currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer for Teralight Ltd, a strategic network technology company serving the South Asia, Middle East and North Africa regions. As a Co-Founder of PrimeTEC International Inc., Mr. Seal was instrumental in developing PrimeTEC as one of the premier International Carriers in the industry, taking the company from zero to 150 million dollars in annual revenue in a period of 2 years. Mr. Seal was responsible for, and implemented provisioning, network operations groups, pricing, contract administration groups, and US and international switch control centers. His background includes the negotiation and implementation of submarine and terrestrial fiber optic cable purchase contracts, and international circuit and interconnection agreements with PTT’s in Europe, South America, Middle East, and Asia. Previously, Jeff served as the Vice-President of International Operations for Capital Network, a voice carrier serving Central and South America. His responsibilities included the network, provisioning, and installation for over 5000 data and telecom nodes in Latin America.

Ms. Roschele Zurbito

Vice President, Corporate Operations, Teralight Ltd. Roschele Zurbito has 14 years of management experience across various industries including Telecommunications, Construction, Engineering and Consultancy organizations, and has been with Teralight since 2006. 

In her current capacity as Vice President of Corporate Operations and Head of Corporate HR, Roschele is an integral part of Teralight’s executive management team, contributing to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. She plays a significant role in the organization’s short and long term planning aimed towards achieving operational excellence. Roschele’s previous experience includes nine years in management roles, where her responsibilities included business operations, corporate policy design and compliance, human resources management, financial operations and marketing in various diverse organizations. She led these companies from their start-up stages through their growth stages, drawing upon her knowledge in both domestic and international business practices. She also applied her knowledge of operational business management sciences such as application of Quality Control Management and ISO practice compliance, in diverse multicultural environment. Ms. Zurbito holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Human Resources Management, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Marketing Management and currently taking up Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree in Managerial Science at University of Atlanta, USA. She is also a professional member of the Institute of Management Consultants, USA. In addition, she applied her range of business management skills through various private equity entrepreneurial interests. She has travelled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa and USA.

Mr. Muhammad Asad Khan

Vice President Customer Sales Operations Muhammad Asad Khan is the Vice President, Customer Sales Operations in Teralight. He has over Nine (9) years of experience in the telecom sector with expertise in voice, data network, fiber optics network designing and Implementation especially Voice-over-IP networks. Furthermore, Mr. Asad has undoubted skills in Network security solutions, Fraud Management and Fraud Detection solutions, excellent knowledge of Call Flows, routing and testing, FMS Detection, CDR Analysis and Bypass Fraud Audit. Mr. Asad has been involved in many training programs of different telecom vendors, and has acquired SS7 probe designing and AFE training (SEVIS), Soft Switch Training (PortaOne), DWDM Solution (Optelian), Billing and Interconnect (N-Soft), OmniPCX Enterprise (Alcatel-Lucent), and many more. He is also JNSA and JNSS certified from Juniper Networks and CSSA from Sonicwall. Mr. Asad is MS Computer Sciences with Majors in Voice Networks from International Islamic University, Islamabad Pakistan. Mr. Asad has also had the opportunity to publish his study in one of the largest international publications JATIT, USA which is based on the modeling of packet loss and delay for Voice packets and the change of behavior with the introduction of multi-path diversity. Mr. Asad has participated in numerous workshops and conferences as a speaker and spoke about Network security, Bypass Fraud and its preventions, QOS on international traffic and many other telecom related topics.

Trainers Anders C. Fleisher Anders has over 20 years of experience in the Telecom industry. His Areas of expertise consist of designing and implementing Fiber to the Home, structured cabling and cloud computing. Mr. Anders is also an expert in data center design and implementation with years of experience in planning and upgrading data centers. He is a master trainer for inside plant practices, cloud computing, and data center design and implementation. Anders has been attached to many organizations and companies within and outside of Denmark.

Azhar Khuwaja Azhar is presently serving as Telecom Trainer & Consultant with over 20 years of experience. His expertise areas are SDH, Next Generation SDH, DWDM / CWDM, GPON, Access Networks, IP, & Metro Ethernet Networks, he also worked in the areas of IP Mobility, ATM, SIP / H.323, TDM (PDH), & Network Management. His industry roles include working as ATM / IP Network Support Specialist at Siemens Canada, NOC Support at Bell Canada, & Field Applications Engineer at Nu Horizons (USA). He has good exposure of corporate telecom environments and practices. Azhar has obtained Master of Engineering Studies (Telecommunication) from University of Wollongong, Australia. He also holds Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics. He has attended several training, short courses, workshops, & seminars in various areas of Telecom, IT, Electronics, & Management at different locations / countries. These include four Alcatel certifications at Alcatel’s North American headquarters (Canada), Cisco training at Ottawa (Canada), Network Processor course at Los Angles (California), Siemens Canada product training, ZTE transmission product training in China, ISO courses, & Operating Systems courses from Algonquin College Ottawa.

Charfeddine Charfeddine is presently serving as Telecom Trainer & Consultant. His expertise areas are 2G, 3G and LTE. Mr. Charfeddine has written and delivered training courses for client operators & vendors in 40-plus countries across the 6 continents. Before his current assignment, Mr. Charfeddine worked as Senior Technical Trainer at Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN). Mr. Charfeddine has obtained Master of Engineering Studies (Telecommunication) from University of Telecom Sud-PARIS, France. He also holds Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications. He has participated in several training workshops and seminars in different areas of Telecom, IT, Electronics & Management.

Daniel Needles Daniel Needles - An IT Enterprise Architect who creates comprehensive NMS, SMS, and APM solutions. He provides a holistic approach that integrates the strategic initiatives from above (OSS/BSS, BPM, ITILv3, FCAPS, TMN, etc) with thetactical realities from below (tools, people, knowledge and processes.) Dr. Jad Nasreddine Dr. Jad Nasreddine is an expert in radio communication with over 10 years of experience in telecommunication industry and academy. He is presently associated with Teralight Academy as a Trainer for LTE Technology. Between 2005 and 2012 he was working as researcher and senior researcher at Telecom-Bretagne, Barcelona Tech, and RWTH Aachen. During his stay in RWTH Aachen, he was acting as project manager for European and industrial projects on designing and prototyping cognitive radio solutions for wireless networks and LTE systems with first-class European universities and international companies such as ST Microelectronics, Microsoft, Toshiba, Huawei. Dr. Nasreddine has been actively participating in several European projects, international standardization bodies, and international conferences and workshops to develop new techniques for wireless systems such as cognitive radio, self-organizing networks, UMTS, LTE/LTE-Advanced, and femtocells. He has been also developing and instructing variety of courses and laboratories on telecommunication systems. Dr. Nasreddine received his PhD degree in March 2005 from the University of Rennes I and his bachelor of engineering in computer science and telecommunications in 2001 from the Lebanese university. His areas of expertise cover inventory management, network optimization and dimensioning solutions, and architectural solutions for a wide range of wireless technologies with focus on 4G and beyond. He is author of over 50 technical papers and owner of three industrial innovation reports.

Khurram Javed Khurram Javed is an academician by profession and is currently serving as Assistant Director, Riphah Institute of Systems Engineering (RISE) and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Computing at Riphah International University. His areas of specialization are Wireless Communication, Networks & Information Security. He has been teaching Advance Computer Networking, Data Communication and Information Security related courses at under-graduate and graduate levels. Beside academic responsibilities, Khurram has been delivering as an Information Security consultant/Penetration Tester & Lead Instructor, Information Security Certification training, under the Professional Development Center at Riphah Institute of Systems Engineering (RISE). He is a Certified EC-Council Instructor (CEI), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI), EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) and a Licensed Penetration Tester (LPT) from EC-Council Academy, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He leads the Information Security Pentesting Team at RISE. His other training include Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI), Virtualization Security, Network Analysis and Forensics, Panda Gate Defender Integra & Performa, VoIP design, installation & configuration, CCNA 4.0 Discovery, FTTH technology and Creating an effective CSOC. Khurram is also a PhD Scholar, pursuing his research in the domain of Wireless Communication and Network Security. He is an active member of the Secure & Dependable Communication research group and has published work in international journals and conferences. Khurram also has professional memberships with EC-Council, IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, and IEEE Communication Society. He is also a member of Cisco Network Academy, ISOC (Internet Society) Pakistan & Malaysia Chapters, ACM Computer Science Teacher’s Association (CSTA, ACM) and Pakistan Information Security Association (PISA).

Luc Samson Luc Samson is a partner in a consulting firm that helps wireless carriers rapidly take advantage of new opportunities, design cost-effective networks and efficient operational processes, and accelerate acceptance and deployment of new services and solutions. Luc’s expertise lies in managing strategic initiatives in technology evolution, vendor selection, and solution deployment with a focus on 4G evolution and network sharing. He is currently involved in planning LTE deployment with carriers in North-America, and has extensive experience in successful network sharing programs. He is an active member of the Technology Advisory Group at Public Safety Canada on the LTE 700 MHz program. Prior to that, Luc was instrumental in helping Nortel and its customers around the globe, in different management and professional services roles. His 15+years of experience covers business planning, product & service planning, and network engineering for all major wireless technologies, including LTE, HSPA, GSM/GPRS, CDMA, EVDO, 802.11 and 802.16. Luc holds has a Master degree in applied sciences, he is the author of numerous technical papers, and he owns 2 patents. Luc speaks fluent French, English, and German.

Magdalena Nohrborg She has over 15 years of experience in training industry with different local & government organizations. Her areas of expertise are LTE, UMTS, IMS, WiMAX, GPRS and GSM. She has been working with Apis as Trainer from 2000-2003. And before working with Apis she worked with Ericson as Trainer where she has been giving training on fixed & mobile & datacom networks. Her greatest achievement is the inventor and developer of Master LTE Faster, which was adopted by 3GPP, (Master LTE Faster is a web-based learning platform for studying of 3GPP specifications). She has served the customers such as Ericsson, Nokia, NokiaSiemens, SonyEricsson, STEricsson, NSN, Vodafone Group, Telefonica and The Royal Technical Institute. Muntaser Bdair For over 20 years, Mr. Bdair has been Information security, education and certification program, and information technology professional serving business and government clients in Middle East, USA, and Europe. In 2003, he co-founded IT Security Training and Solutions I(TS)2, a premier provider of Information security training, solutions, and consultancy company. He held several key positions at I(TS)2 including Sr. Security Consultant/Trainer, Academy Manager, VP of Professional Services, Chief Operation Officer, and recently SOC Advisor and Chairman Advisor. Mohammad Arslan Abbasi Mohammad is a Wireless Telecoms Specialist with more than 14 years of experience on network engineering design, planning, and project management. He has successfully implemented several projects within budget, scope, time scales, and process limitations. He has a proven track record with extensive exposure and experience with the top-of-the-line wireless network products of leading vendors including ZyXel, Zhone, Alcatel, Agilent, and Nortel. His expertise covers technologies including: WiFi, Metro WiFi, WiMAX, LTE, FTTx, GEPON, and DSL. Mohammad has been working in various fields of Telecom since 1998 and carries a degree in Electronics Engineering.

Sameer Azzam Mr. Azzam has over than 14 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry out of which 10 years in Fraud & Revenue Assurance. His areas of expertise consist of identifying quality risks to revenue streams, best practices in evidence gathering procedure and liaise with various internal and external sources ensuring prompt and effective resolution of Fraud / Revenue Assurance issues. Mr. Azzam has actually established multiple Revenue assurance departments at different major operators including Zain and Umniah. Stewart White Stewart is a regulatory lawyer by background with more than 30 years of experience. He has worked in many jurisdictions in developed and developing countries advising both the public and private sectors in fixed, mobile and satellite. He was the founding Group Public Policy Director of Vodafone Group plc (where he was known as Vodafone’s “Foreign Minister”), and has been a director of many Vodafone operating companies and more recently a director of Etisalat’s Nigerian operation. He was the lead legal advisor on a number of World Bank projects in the Middle East including the privatisations of operators and creation of regulatory authorities in Jordan, Palestine and Oman. He was an advisor to the Australian Government regarding the creation of the NBN, including separation undertakings of Telstra, and other NGN related projects including in Kuwait and Qatar. He has been an expert to the European Commission, an advisor to four Secretaries General of the ITU, and was Head of Telecoms for KPMG in Middle East and South Asia between 2010 and 2012. He founded Akhet Consulting in June 2012 and is resident in the UAE.

Wallace L. Allen Wallace has over 40 years of experience in the Telecom Industry. His areas of expertise consist of I&R, Cable Splicing, Test Desk Technician, Mechanized Loop Tester, CAT 5e & 6 cabling/Basic VoIP and Acting RSB Foremen. He has also been instructor for both I&R, Cable (copper and fiber) Splicing, Copper and OSP design, ADSL installation and repair, Cable TV (Tripleplay), as well as a Technical Advisor/Trainer and Quality (ISO/9000) Control person for both Outside Plants and in the Central Office.
