Emily is in her second season on the Golden Eagle squad after making a mark during her freshman year...a promising athlete who is strong on the track, and a dedicated student in the classroom...named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll at Tech for her efforts in the classroom...also played basketball in high school. AT TECH - (In 2009-10): Emily competed in the TTU Invitational posting a time of 25:47.49. (In 2008-09): Emily competed in the 400m dash during the indoor season and achieved a best time of 1:02.14 at the OVC Indoor meet...that is the best time for a Golden Eagle in the season...a participant on the 4x400 relay team at the OVC Indoor meet that reached a time of 4:14.92...also a participant on the distance medley team that set the new school record time of 12:21.09 at the OVC meet with teammates Tiffany Palmer, Keri Light and Stephanie Place...also competed in the 200m and 400m dashes during the outdoor season...clocked in a best time in the 200m dash of 26.64 at the OVC meet, which is a close second for a Tech season-best time...best time in the 400m was 1:00.91, reached at the Winthrop meet for another close Tech seasonal-best time...helped the 4x100 relay team to a school record-setting time of 48.90 at the Murray State meet along with teammates Meagan Lyons, Allison Price and Ifey Eguzo...was a participant on the 4x400 relay team at the OVC Championships that set the fourth-best mark in school history for that event with a time of 4:03.59. HIGH SCHOOL: Emily was a two-sport athlete at Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio...competed as a sprinter in track four years for coach Nancy Aimarat...helped the team to second place in the district for three consecutive years between 2006 and 2008...best time in the 100m was 11.5...reached 25.6 as a best time in 200m...also competed in the 400m with a career-best time of 59.3...also played basketball as a small forward in her 10th and 11th grade seasons under coach Terry Barton...she helped the basketball team as it went on to be bi-district champions during her 11th grade year...for her outstanding work in the classroom, she was honored with the cum laude award from the National Honors Society. Haley Wennerstrom

Haley is in her freshman year on the Tech track & field squad and brings with her a strong, competitive spirit...has the ability to make a mark in the Golden Eagle program...named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, recognizing her efforts in the classroom...will compete in the throws for the Golden Eagles and has potential to make an immediate impact in the weight throw. HIGH SCHOOL: Haley comes to Tech from Chattanooga Christian School where she broke some school records...she is now the record-holder in discus with a distance achieved of 93’2”...because of her efforts, she won the Coach’s Award in her sophomore year and was MVP of her team in her senior year...also performs well in the classroom, as she was a member of the National Honor Society. PERSONAL: The daughter of Eric and Lisa Wennerstrom...born on December 2, 1990...full name is Haley Wennerstrom...enrolled in nursing.

Lacy Yslas

Lacy is a freshman on the Golden Eagle squad and will competing in the throwing events during the indoor and outdoor track seasons...a talented athlete who made her mark in track in high school...also competed in basketball and volleyball...also a strong performer in the classroom...earned a spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in recognition of her solid academic efforts. HIGH SCHOOL: Lacy comes to Tech from White County High School in nearby Sparta...the first track athlete from that high school to ever compete on the collegiate level of competiton...started her track career during her junior year and advanced to sectionals in the same year...as a senior, advanced to the state meet and took fifth-place honors...was a member of the Tennessean’s All-Midstate second team...lettered both years for coach Dave Bruce...also lettered three years in basketball and three years in volleyball for the Warriors...a solid worker in the classroom in high school...kept a solid “A” average and was chosen to be a Girls’ State alternate as well as a member of BETA. PERSONAL: Lacy is the daughter of Fidel Yslas and Alice Johnson...full name is Lacy Lorraine Yslas...born on June 4, 1991...studying curriculum in Secondary Education/Spanish.
