In 2012 (Sophomore): Kayla played in 45 games and started in 18 for the Golden Eagles... led the team with the highest batting average at .367 and on-base percentage at .426 and had the second highest slugging percentage with a .367... in 49 at bats, she earned 18 hits and four walks... scored 13 runs and 1 RBI... had 18 total bases and 17 stolen bases with an attempted 21... named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll list for the 2012 spring semester (May 16)... named to the College Sports Madness All-OVC First Team (May 31). In 2011 (Freshman): Kayla posted the highest batting average on the team in her limited plate appearances...played in 41 games with nine starts, she managed a .389 batting average in 18 at bats, with seven hits and 12 runs scored...she was also 12-for-13 in stolen bases, and her .450 on-base percentage was second on the team...she was named both the Freshman of the Year and Most Improved Player...named to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. High School: Kayla earned four letters playing softball for Columbia Central High School playing in the outfield…named all district in 2009 and 2010 in district 8-AAA…led the team in singles, stolen bases and runs scored…holds the school record for most stolen bases…won district championship in 2007 and was the runner up in the region.
