Cody FORBES uRunning Back u 5-11 / 205 u R-Junior u Elizabethton, Tenn. u Elizabethton High School A multi-talented athlete, Cody found a home in Tech’s backfield as a true freshman and saw his playing time and contributions increase throughout his first season...continued to show improvement as a sophomore with increased strength...skipped a beat last year when he was forced to take a medical redshirt season, bit appeared back to full strength during 2013 spring drills...runs good routes out of the backfield and provides an additional threat as a receiver...has increased his strength and power during off-season. AT TECH (IN 2012): Sat out entire season as a redshirt. (In 2011): Saw action in all 11 games, averaging 62.9 all-purpose yards per game...put on a show against Maryville College with 67 rushing yards on eight attempts including a 26-yard haul...also logged a season-long 59yard kick-off return against Maryville...scored touchdowns against SEMO and Austin Peay and recorded 551 total yards as a returner for an average of 22 yards per return to rank fifth in the OVC...had a season-high 132 allpurpose yards against SEMO in one of three games in which he recorded over 100 all-purpose yards. (In 2010): Cody played in nine of Tech’s 11 games as a true freshman, and saw his playing time increase deeper into the season...finished the year with 24 carries for 115 rushing yards and one touchdown...had four carries for 12 yards at Arkansas...most activity came at Murray State when he had nine carries for 38 yards...scored a two-yard touchdown -- his first career touchdown as a Golden Eagles -- in Tech’s thrilling fourth-quarter comeback win over Jacksonville State. HIGH SCHOOL: Named TSWA all-state as a kick returner and conference Offensive Player of the Year as a senior...a four-year letterwinner under coach Shawn Witten at Elizabethton (Tenn.) High School...helped his team win the conference title and reach the TSSAA state semi-finals in 2009, finishing with an 11-3 mark...played runningback and receiver, returned kicks and punts, and also played safety and outside linebacker...chosen captain of the Tennessee-Kentucky All-Star game...averaged nearly six yards per carry during his career on the way to 1,585 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns...also piled up 674 punt and kick return yards and four touchdowns, and finished with 29 career TDs...as a senior he had 859 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, 208 receiving yards and three scores...the TSSAA state champion in the triple jump on the track & field team.

BEFORE TECH: Neil was a three-sport athlete, an Honor student and a two-year starter on the football team at Vestavia Hills High School... as a senior, he was named to the Birmingham News All-South/Hoover Football Team when he tied for the team lead with 12 touchdown catches for 1,088 receiving yards, averaging 21 yards per catch...was a 2010 Regions Athlete of the Year nominee and was a Thompson Reynolds Scholar-Athlete.
